| | | So today I had planned on going to the Clocktower but I decided to check out the abandoned granary. It seemed less risky and I wouldn't have to climb a rope. So my buddy and I got there and found the place very easy to get into. There were also two smaller buildings on the complex. There are two of the huge silo-type buildings. We ventured high into one of them. I'd say it was about 170' up. It was beautiful up there. It was great for my second UE trip.

| | | Very nice sir. Looks like a wonderful second trip indeed. Aahahah, I couldn't help but laugh at the retro post ups. I'm suprised those werent defaced by graffiti or something. Some good shots, definitely strikes some curiosity in me to want to check the place out! Thanks for sharing.
NAY, sir! |

| | | Very nice photos. Grain mills are pretty cool to explore and theres tons of active and abandoned ones around here. The closest city to where I live has an abandoned one that is the 2nd tallest building in the city, its HUGE. I like how this one is mostly all enclosed, it looks quite a bit older then any Ive ever seen. http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=25966 Theres the mill in my town.
Ill take this time to point out the similar architecture.

| | | I have wondered about that place for years! I lived pretty close to there for a while. I never had the guts to go in due to the fact that its a favorite graff point to the highway and I figured it would be regularly patroled by vandal squads. How police-free would you rate that place? Id like to go some day and shoot some photos. I knew it had to be pretty easy to get into since it gets tagged then painted then tagged about once a week! Also, aside from police patrol, was there a hobo factor there? Most joints in Chicago are full of them hobos.
better lives have been lived in the margins and locked in prisons and lost on the gallows than have ever been enshrined in palaces. |

I've only been there once and there were no cops. There is probably moderate hobo factor since we found their lair, but not actually in the main silo buildings.
