| | | as y'all know the cowboys are building a new stadium, and lately ive taken the liberty to explore the run down stadium during half-time at games using my press creds, and for a stadium of its size and age, its very boring and basic, no weird or expansive tunnels, its very basic. not really worth exploring. dont get your hopes up when they ditch this place before the nuke it.

I've rigged in there and when you're walking on a three inch piece of curved angle iron at 225 feet you forget all about the boring parts. It's more interesting up in the roof above the press boxes.
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

| | | of all the stadia i explored (baseball) most are pretty straightforward, baseball parks tend to have stranger facilities under the stands like batting cages and practice mounds. of the 10 or so parks ive been in, behind the scenes and the like the 2 most interesting were tiger stadium and olympic stadium. olympic stadium because its a football/baseball/ and convention center. it has concourses that are wide enought that they are used as convention space and convention halls at field level. otherwise a lot of stadia are downright boring, since most have outdoor concourses, in baseball i think tampa, montreal, houston (the astrodome) and toronto were the only ones to have indoor concourses, even the kingdome was outdoors. outdoor concourses mean no need for heating pipes and the like in the upper reaches, olympic stadium being airconditioned has hollow support beams that double as heating and cooling ducts

| | | The Astrodome is sick with secret passages and hidden areas. It's freaking insane. Also, as a side not, I read that 1st post of this thread and one word came to mind. Misinformation. Not accusing you of anything, just how I read it.

| | | Years ago my Dad took me to some function at Texas Stadium where we were to listen and mingle with some college football players and coaches in the banquet/club room. Myself and a guy I met about my age, decided we were bored and snuck out a back door just to have a look around. We roamed up and down hallways for awhile until we started checking doors and when we found one, we ducked in and found we were pretty high up at the 50 yard line. There were desks and counters lined up against the windows which were open out onto the field, and rows of about a billion mic lugs all over the walls. When I stuck my head out the window and leaned over to see where we were, I noticed, right under the window, was a big banner that said "KRLD Radio". What a trip for us! We were in the KRLD booth! We ducked back out and we were looking for a way to get to the dressing rooms when we heard voices. We ducked in a room and started going through doors and before we knew it, one door led us right back in the club room we started in from the end opposite to where we started. That was years ago before UE was even thought of and even before Internet! (umm...I just seriously dated myself, didn't I?)
