So New England has probably 5 times as many active explorers than Texas and if you subtract all the "virtual explorers" those that just write about exploring but dont actually go explore anything, (we seem to have a lot around here) its probably an even higher active explorers for NY to TX ratio.

But to answer your question with a question, why not? I think its a great idea but I doubt more than a few will show up.

Admission of guilt? Us adirondackers are ready to rock

I got your tour winner right here pussies, at least he'd crash out trying.

I would love to attend an event, but I don't want to drive the 75 miles to Arlington, if no one else is gonna be there. I will RSVP "Yes", but if you guys can't make it, PM and let me know. Gas is expensive....

Hell,
NV said the cave at Carr would be cool to have a party in. Maybe we should caravan, camp in the cave and check out Hillsboro hot spots.

I'm a blatant waste of time and resources.

Lack of interest is the main reason.

Weve tried many many times to get the DFW, North Texas, entire Texas etc group together.

Geoduck/Abandoned X used to organize UTEX but that event kinda went bust

And NoahVale/Astrosfan held some DFW meet-ups but it turned out to be the same 5 guys showing up everytime and we already knew each other and explored anyway.

I was at the last DeeEffDub meeting and Melancholy and I were the only ones there. From the looks of it, we might be the only ones there for this next one. We either gotta pic a new place, a different time and date or something. It may be an indication that very few of us here in Texas are doing all the exploring while everyone else is just sitting back talking about it. All ya'll sheep-dipped varmints need to pony up to the table once in awhile show these damn yankees where the adventure really lives. LOL

Seriously, I'd really like to see a better showing at the next meet. At least so I can put some faces to the nicks I see on here all the time.

I wanna go. I just have to drive 200+ miles. I am totally willing to do that but only if I know at least one person going. I'm excited to see all this new stuff in that area and hope to see it for myself soon.

I dont think the ideas dead but given the current state of affairs with the police having that list with all our screen names etc we might have to go across the Rio Grande to hold it.

Police? List? What list? Are you afraid that the nice police officer is going to come into a popular restaurant on a Saturday night and start going around the room asking "Are you too extreme?" or "Are you Melencholy?" LOL I can just see the responses they'll get out of that.

OMG! You'll never believe what happened tonight at the Dee ef Dub Meet & Greet! We were sitting there quietly having our milk and cookies like the proper children we are and Mr. Popo walks in and starts asking around for us. So, me thinks, Mr. nice policeman must have gotten ahold of that infamous list and we are definitely up for a trip to the hoosgow fo' sho'. So, me thinks a few thoughts to myself and being the bad ass Texas boy that I am, decides to takes a bit of initiative and do something to saves my chums from a night of horrifying and humiliating interrogation, torture and, quite possibly mock execution. I jumps up and walks confidently over to the nice man in blue and says, "Howdy officer! You must be on the prowl for some really nasty villians tonight, huh?" Well, he looks at me with a crazed look in his eye and says, "Why yes, sir! I have a whole list of people here as evil and pernicious as the devil himself and I'm out to get 'em and get 'em good. I'm out to scare 'em good. I'm out to capture 'em up! I'm out to..." and he starts going on and on about all the terrifying and ruthless plans he has laid out for us. About this time, I notice, clutched tightly in his white knuckled fist, a stack of about 50 pages of neatly typewritten pages with what looked like names and such. So, being the smart feller that I am, while he was jumping up and down, shouting his foul and evil plans, starting to foam at the mouth and his eyes firey with rage, I snatched that stack of papers and ran for the door! As I opened the door and stepped out, I glanced back past the city's finest in all his glorious pumped up, spewing rage and noticed a tremendous look of admiration and thankfulness in the eyes of my new found friends. The look of relief was apparent in their faces knowing that without that hideous list, none of them could be identified as the dangerous, malevolent creatures that the really were. I jumped out that door and zipped over to my car, jumped in and wheeled out of the parking lot with the list resting comfortably in the passenger seat. I still feel a great sense of satisfaction in knowing that, once again, I have saved a portion of humanity that has been preyed upon for too long by the evil repressive local government machine! Long live Texas! Long live the USA! Long live UER! Viva la libre! Viva la France! Well, you get the idea, I hope...

LOL

(For all who don't understand this message, just chalk it up to the ramblings of a crazy geezer. It's either ADD or Alzheimer's or maybe even Desert Storm Disease, whatever, it's lunacy at it's finest!)

What's the use in being a stooge for da man when somebody just snags my list of evildoers?

Come over to Sydney. Last check there was +1000 on our location list, and that's mostly just in the city.

Then of course there's Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane...

Put that in your drain and smoke it. Hehehe.

Had I only known and had the time...
Australia is a whole lot like Texas in a lot of ways.
I loved it there. I took LOTS of photos. There's a post card view around every corner.

I you look to the very centre of the image, there's a big brown brick building with a white cross on it. That was my school. Pretty good view huh?
