A little something from Rainman and Shutterbug

Okay, Here's a little something we dug out of our archives and scanned in.

1) Attempt at a Macro shot. A little something that guards use.

2) Anyone recognize this place? (Before demolition)

3) Same place during demolition.

4) A detail shot.

5) An interior shot. This building came very close to becoming another lost part of our heritage. Sorry for the Black and White (ran out of colour film at the time)

6) Another interior shot from the same building. I know of someone who will "enjoy" it!

Hope you folks enjoy them. The black border is something I'm experimenting with and these are from film. To be posted as locations in the next couple of months.

Gone for a while. Be back when I'm back.

Seconded... I don't know if this is some style that is beyond me, or if you are so advanced that you're reverse-engineering your techniques... but I think that you could improve a lot by reading a book or two. I recommend 'Masterclass in Photography'. You need to spend more time looking through the viewfinder and composing and metering.

It looks like you're working in low-res digital scans; you might want to stick with at least 73 px/sq. inch for posting online. Yours seem closer to 40 or 50.

Thanks for the input. For the record, we were using film. We didn't have a digital camera at the time so the pics you see here were scanned from prints. Well, time to get some extra practice.

Your depth of field is off on the first one.

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God. "For proof denies faith and without faith I am nothing."

Tried to get a macro of that one. Guess that didn't work out too good.

They are a different style of shots than what I like to see, but thats me. I would have like to have seen more of the overall room in #5 instead of a ceiling shot. The BW looks good on that shot.
