Yes indeed it will be torn down scraped off flat trees and all, paved over and reborn as Jerry Jones personal money making play pen, of course the citizens will get some revenue from the selling of beer and hotdogs etc, too bad really its a nice little tree lined neighborhood but the deal they offered to the residents in the buyout seemed very fair last I heard there was still a couple of holdouts.
The big loser is Irving, they couldnt put up enough tax funding to meet Jones demands (about half I think, correct me if thats not accurate) to keep the team at Texas Stadium which brings up the next big abandonment... Texas Stadium?Surely they will end up tearing it down I doubt that HS playoff games and occasional swap meet would generate enough revenue to pay the electric bill. Hey the roof always leaked anyway!

It'll either end up with a housing development of million dollar homes or way overpriced apartments. You think it's a pain to drive into town on 114 or 183 now... you ain't seen nothin' yet. It's going to make N Central Exwy look like a race track!

Ive pretty much lost interest in the terracaching and spend whatever free time I have now exploring stuff and trying to be a photographer. Rest of the time its work, teachin my kid to drive, coaching the HS softball team and figuring out ways to pay for college!
Bicycling to Allen? from where you used to/still live? Ay caramba you must be stayin in shape.
And no you and I are not the oldest guys here, close to it but we got this guy named Barry Kooda see, hes much, much older than you or I ;) But around here its all cool theres some young fellars on here that really know their way around. Its pretty hard to keep up with them though. Like I said you'll find yourself right at home in this group. We got several explorers here in the old neighborhood.

Yep. 18 miles straight up Jupiter and back, (on the days I'm feeling lazy, I ride over to the Lovers Ln Dart station, take the train to Plano and then ride from there -- that shortens the commute to about 12 miles). And no, I'm not a cyclist; just a guy who rides a bike to work. I get passed by the guys wearing lycra all the time and I think I'm the only one out there riding while smoking a cigarette and drinking coffee.

I spoke to a lady out in her front yard watering her plants as if its going to matter. She is one of the "holdouts" and has not accepted the offer. She does not know when the eviction notices will be enforced by order of the city of Arlington and His Eminent Domainship King Jerry but she plans to keep on living there until it happens.
Of course there are some areas in this neighborhood that would be a lot better off if they were bulldozed like this local crackhead squat / porno repository.
But surely something like this is worth saving.
This on the other hand is probably not.

Actually, there's several places of urban-legend noteriaty. There's a place there called "Hell's Gate" which is a weird winding path with swamps on either side. Ends in two old fence poles that lead to an area where supposedly confederate deserters were hanged back in the Civil War.
Also the Screaming Bridge, which was cordoned off by fences a few years ago and pretty much hidden away by foliage.
Also many drains. Drains galore. Drains the likes you have never seen... okay. I exaggerate a bit, but there's drains.

It's called Screaming Bridge. But, you have to be careful that you get the right screaming bridge as there are three bridges in that area with only7 one being the right one. The most popular one isn't it.
