Just be caredul, a B&E conviction here in Canada carries a max sentence of life in prison (trust me). If you are caught stealing while committing B&E, you WILL go to jail. People do dumb things when they are young, forgetting that records follow you forever. Going through the pardon process myself finally, to get that crap off my back. Court is NEVER a fun place to be. Trespassing is basically a ticket here, much safer...

the second your body crosses the threshold of a doorway, you are guilty of BnE.
BUT the wording of the law is such that you have to commit another indictable offense while breaking and entering to be charged with BnE.

BnE with intent to commit theft, destruction of property, and other felonious activity.
See that little souvenir in your pocket?
that upgrades the charges they can nail you with from petty trespass, to BnE and theft.

Yup that is my take on it too. At least in Canada.

If you ever come to Calgary then email [email protected] and you'll be made welcome, taken to locations and given free accommodation. We'll help save you the $$$ you spend on the flight over here :)
