What do they do instead of explore? They throw things off of the ledges, throw concrete chunks at windows, kick things around...

That's when you tell them to stop or their ride is going to leave.

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure why you people are playing the victim when your friends begin destroying things. Grow a couple and tell them to knock it off.

It wasnt my friends that stared destroying anything.

My friend, a trusted explorer, intorduced people that just wanted to have parties in the abandoned buildings.

Is your friend a very experienced explorer, or was he just so excited that he had to show off to his friends? It's good to share experiences, stories, and information, but it seems like every person with at least half a wit as to what they're doing should choose carefully, with whom he or she shares the stories.

But that brings you to the concern known as elitism. I want to see the UE community grow, but not so that I would become evangelical with my purpose. That only saturates and demoralizes the whole community, ethically and otherwise. Look what happened to Christianity

Well, depending that it took two to hold the fence open so we could get out, and since I was driving and that the location was far from civilization (this is Bumfuck, Ohio after all), that would not have been wise.

Although the thought did pop into my head...

Well, I mean, hes an explorer, and he wanted other people to know about it. I mean, after all, how did you get started? Granted, I got started through infiltration, but all of my friends that explore got started through me. I mean, you really cant blame me for this.

I have meet a few vandals/partyers exploring many sites over the years, Only recently this year did i discover the UER, and other such sites. And I was pleased to find there mentality, that of mature and respectfull nature. I Have read a few threads now that make me stop and think. Should I post New locations? My access level is low and thus would be open to almost everyone even if i did make an attempt to make it private. The locations are in the township of where I live and I would not like to see any of them abused. I would also like to commend those who steady there hand from breaking that already broken window, or not kicking a LARGER hole in the already hole ridden wall. So many do not reconize the dangers that are attached to UE. You may be the last little nudge that was needed to bring the whole roof down on your head. Personally I think this site should step up its security, I have read quite a few posts that have made me question the integraty of the poster. Anyways, we cant stop the abuse, but we can help stop ignorance. This site for an example helps others learn that UE, is a hobby of respect, and Intrigue not a cool place to talk shit, and find old buildings to demolish. if they wanted those buildings trashed, dont you think they are quite capeable of doing it themselfs?

I've learned alot on this site, and kept many things in mind while exploring a house I went into on Saturday.
I was tempted to take a very old cold cream jar sitting in a cabinet, but then I thought twice, remembering that whoever had been through previously left it there for me to enjoy.

It usually only takes one idiot (or a group of them) to ruin things...

Very nice! Wiccan I admire your forsight to reconize that. So many objects in a place seem to make it come alive. and Each time we remove something, thats something the next person will never see or experience. Especially something cool! But I am not totaly against takeing a souvenir,

In winnipeg Curious George and I went to explore this old building. We ran into 4 wankers who were lighting fireworks and filming it. We tried to enter this smaller building which is when we realised that they weren't only firing them outside the place because we couldn't breathe and we couldn't even see!! That's how smokey it was! So we started to leave and we heard sirens... the wankers drove off and the fire trucks only passed by to go somewhere else... We went inside the main building and had a good UE session.

THE PART THAT PISSED ME THE HELL OFF... not only do they have no respect, but they are blowing the spot for us also. Plus they could have burned a really old place down.

Heh, that makes me never to want to take something again - unless the building is about to be demolished. Great post.

ive taken mates out before, never again.i took some friends to a place and when we got there they started throwin stuff through windows breakin stuff and just bein right wankers makin so much noise.after spitting the dummy at them big time they said who cares its gona get smashed down anyway, and called me the idiot.i dont understand what goes through some peoples heads sometimes,i mean you sneak into some of these places and if caught your in trouble,so the last thing you wana do is bring unwanted atention to yourself.and i dont get what people get out of smashing up stuff that really pisses me off,if you have to vent out some anger go to the footy or something.but thats the reason i only go ue with one of my mates ,we both got the same appreciation for ue.and niether of us will tolerate vandals coming with us.

Some times they can pose a serious threat to the building. On one occasion I came across a group of seven, most of whom were passed out, sitting around bonfire in a abandoned theatre. One kid woke up and gave us a "tour." Then he started throwing aerosols cans in the fire. His passed out friend's pants caught on fire. Woke him up fast hehehe. But im still amazed it didn't burn down.

Yeah, I break people in with crappy sites.

I usually get the job of breaking people in so I take them to the subway. If they act like morons down there they don't get to go any further with us. It's a safety thing. We have enough going on without having to be babysitters too.
