I dunno if you have checked out Alexploration's website at all, but he has a few places in LA. He went to LSU. He has explored quite a few more than he has posted on his website as is my understanding, so you might find it worth while to e-mail him. If you don't have the link already, here is his website: http://alexplorer....n/exploration.html

Just checked it out and saw a couple of familiar sites, such as Belle Promenade Mall in Harvey and Schwegmann's in Slidell. I always wanted to get into the old mall and take pictures but they tore most of it down before I even realized it was completely closed.

I wonder if anybody ever explored Aurora Gardens Academy in Algiers before it was torn down (probably 15 years ago now). I'd really like to see some pictures of that.

hey folks, I'm another new uer member who headed up to the BR dome this afternoon. I've explored quite a few spots in Columbus, OH (where I'm from), but this was my first trip anywhere here in BR. Today's trip was brief, as I didn't feel comfortable leaving my car out in the open, but if anybody's up for another group outing, keep me in the loop. It's just not the same by yourself.

I'm in. Though I'm brand new to this site, I'm stoked that other people actually do what I've always thought I was the only one doing. Anyway, I lived in N.O. for 3 years, and live within 50 miles of her now. I'd love to join in-

Hate to resurect an old thread, but I'm from Bossier City in northern Louisiana, right across the river in Shreveport. Done a good bit of exploring of all of the sites mentioned in Shreveport...even did a little in the not abandonded First Baptist church in Bossier and climbed the Steeple. But if anyone is up here nearby and knows anymore cool sites let me know!

Yea sorry I didn't respond to the PM, finals are rapidly approaching and I've been busy as hell. By Penal Farm do you mean the old CCC? I've been looking for a way in without having to deal with police, so any tips on that one would be appreciated...and the big one for me right now is the old synagouge downtown..I want in there really bad.

i haven't been to the uer website in a while, and i'm sorry folk. if i had, i would have told everyone about the dangers of falstaff brewery. its only abandoned right now because the owners did some faulty restoration of the place and there's huge costs to fix the ASBESTOS PROBLEM. i hope all of y'all that went in there had yourselves some type of breathing device, because it's simply not safe to be in there. yes abandoned buildings have asbestos problems, but for the love of god, never go into falstaff until you have some form of respirator.

I will be visiting New Orleans over the New Year. Any recommendations? I am also interested in any advisories and/or warnings. I am unfamiliar to the area.
