Urban Explorers TV Show.... new airdates
< on 6/22/2005 5:18 PM >

Hey folks,

The five episodes of the TV show I am on – titled “Urban Explorers”-- will be airing next week, Monday through Friday, June 27-July 1, at 5pm on the Discovery Channel.

Sorry about the false alarm a few months ago... but this time it is listed on both the Discovery Channel website and on the TV guide website, so I think these airdates are solid.

I believe this is airing in US only, unfortunately, maybe it'll air later on discovery canada but apparently that's done seperately.

The schedule is:

Monday Jun 27 2005 @ 05:00 PM-- Milwaukee
Tuesday June 28 2005 @ 05:00 PM-- Chicago
Wednesday June 29 2005 @ 05:00 PM—Buffalo
Thursday June 30 2005 @ 05:00 PM-- Pittsburgh
Friday July 1 2005 @ 05:00 PM-- Denver

And you will advise us where they are hosted as a digital air-cap afterwards, yeah?

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

Goddamn this show is gonna suck ass. I know some people bitch about UER making UE too public but this show is going to do 1000 times any damage uer can ever do.

Yeah someone please record and host these, lol. I'm out of town all next week and worst of all, no TV to use, really don't want to miss these.

Are the re-runing them at any point soon?

Come on, it's the Discovery Channel. I'm sure with 8 airings of American Chopper a day, they'll be able to find a place to run 'em again.

I hope that this doesn't cause a huge flood of bored people into abandoned buildings, breaking and vandalising in the name of "UE, like on that show!"

On the other hand, I'll still be watching the show. For what time zone is it 5pm?

I actually watched the show yesterday, was the one about Wisconsin with a brewery, a coke plant, and a bowling alley or some such thing. Which one were you?

Well that was fun, Steve -looking forward to seeing the rest of 'em!

While there were some pretty hokey aspects (climbing up the side of the brewery in a full harness with safety ropes that magically sprouted from the rooftop? Using a polaroid camera? Over dramatized and music-video-like editing?) it was still cool to see the inside of those places.

What criteria did the the producers use in selecting the cities and locations? What got visited but didn't make the cut? What didn't get visited that you would've liked to see included?

Eh, I didn't like it much. They candy-coated everything, tried to make it hip and edgy and XXXTR33M. Too bad they didn't portray the actual grittiness of it all, with the filth and decay. No respirators that I saw....no hiding in the shadows while security walks around with flashlights. Although the last part really isn't to be expected anyway.

The chicago episode was okay... they did try to make everything hip like trying to talk cool and everything.

They must have said "What's up Chi-Town ?" like 30 times

I liked the Chicago episode, especially the Uptown Theater - what a magnificent building.
