| | | | | Has anyone ordered lithium CR123A's off of ebay? < on 11/23/2004 3:39 PM >
| | | The prices for these batteries at the stores are insane, I know www.surefire.com has a good deal on them, but on ebay, sellers seem to have better deals even with the shipping, just an fyi I would use these on my xenon torch however I know how ebay can be, I might never get them, or they are shipped from hong kong, or when I receive them they are dead. So I was just wondering if anyone has had good luck ordering them from ebay, or knows another cheap place to get them besides surefire.
Now that I have found someone I'm feeling more alone Than I ever have before |

| | | I have never ordered them off ebay, due to a lack of trust for something like batteries. Also, it always seemed like surefire was really the best deal and shipping was gouged on ebay. If you just need a couple I've got a box from surefire. More than I need really.

| | | I've ordered a 20-pack of CR123As from ebay in the past for roughly us$1 per battery, and they worked fine for me. The ones I got did indeed come straight from hong kong in minimalistic packaging (a dying paper envelope), but they managed to make the trip intact and seemed to have plenty of juice in them. I believe the ones I got were manufactured under the brand name "golston". In short, go for it. Get the cheapest price you can, because even if the $1 batteries only last half as long as the $7 batteries, it's still a steal.

| | | The cheapest non-ebay place I know of to buy CR123A batteries is batterystation.com, $1 apiece (+ shipping) for CPF members. I think after shipping they're within a buck or two of Surefire's pricethough, depending on quantity. All things considered, I'd rather spend a couple extra bucks and support a reliable merchant (Surefire, batterystation.com, brightguy.com, etc...) than to risk getting questionable batteries from some random guy in China. Oh, and buy as many batteries at once as you can, so you won't have to order any more for a long time [last edit 11/23/2004 10:55 PM by tick - edited 1 times]

| | | Oh, I just noticed that botach.com has brand name CR123A's for as low as $1 apiece. You may have a better chance of actually receiving your order from a random e-bay guy than from Botach, though.

| | | Does anyone know how reliable batterystation.com is? My camera takes CR2 batteries and the cheapest price Ive found around here is $16 each. Batterystation.com however has 'em for 2.50 a pop, so if I know they're reliable I'm going to stock up.

Batterystation.com has a good reputation. I've ordered flashlights and batteries from them a couple of times, and haven't had any problems.

| | | I've purchased multiple times from the same Ebay seller. Of course they weren't a brand known for batteries (Sanyo) but they held up just fine. He also offered free shipping, which is half the cost of many ebay items. I can dig up the sellers name if you want, can't remember the cost, but it was cheap, especially with no shipping.
I got your tour winner right here pussies, at least he'd crash out trying. |
