| | | can't log in using firefox < on 9/12/2004 2:31 AM >
| | | I just switched to mozilla firefox today. I don't know all the ropes yet though, and for some reason I can't log in here when I'm using it. I know it's probably just some setting or something that I have to tweak with. Can anyone help?

| | | Haaa Haaa. I add this to the list of people with problems with mozilla whenever I say Opera is good and someone yammers on for a month about how amazing Mozilla is and trouble free... I'd suggest getting Opera, it clears up all Mozilla problems. heh.

Mozilla is free, yo. I have more problems with Opera, but eh, to each their own. THD -- make sure your cookies are set up correctly. See if it's set up to block all cookies, to ask, or to allow all cookies.

| | | ok i cleared my cache and it's working fine now. I don't know if that had anything to do with the problem... but so far so good.

| | | I should have known YOU would be a mozilla user... Honestly, it's all just personal preference. I used Mozilla and preferred it to IE, but then tried out and compared Opera and liked it better still. I just find it highly ironic that I see at least one person every week or so complain about problems with mozilla... somehow the mozilla users can block that right out though. Tunnel vision rocks. edit: The *you* being Servo... [last edit 9/12/2004 3:55 AM by Jester - edited 1 times]

| | | the only reason i chose mozilla was because i've heard other people complain about their problems with opera not working for them. I've never heard about mozilla problems. But then again, i just encountered one myself I'll try this out for a while, but i'll also look into opera too.

Nope, some of us aren't in need of that... But I'm glad it's helping you.

| | | I've only had a few problems with Mozilla myself. It's too fast. Sometimes, when I go to a page it comes up before I'm ready for it, and I'm all "DOUBLE-YOU-TEE-EFF!?!?!??!" And then it when it blocks pop-up windows, it's too easy to add sites to the list to allow pop-ups. I mean, what if I type in the domain to unblock by accident!? Also, I hate the skins and extensions. Because people see me with all the menus/icons/address bar etc. crammed into one like 20 pixel tall bar of skinned buttons, and see my Gmail open when I click on an e-mail link and then they ask and i have to explain it to em and it turns into this whole big thing... All kidding aside though, I've never had a problem displaying/logging into anything with Firefox. The only problem I've ever had is a couple seemingly random crashes, but wtf, it's still 0.9 version, of course it has a few bugs to be squashed. I STILL pick it over anything else though. My one TRUE complaint is that mac support's kinda iffy as far as skins and extensions go it seems. But I still preffer it over Safari, Netscape or IE:mac

| | | Just recently started using Firefox about a month ago (dumped IE) and have not had a single problem with it. Still getting use to the interface since I used IE for about 10 years now.

| | | While toying with options/preferences Firefox crashed twice under me. Continued happily with "normal" Mozilla :>

| | | I view web pages on my grandfathers old steam driven stylophone! Works GREAT and it can still hit the high notes when it's compliling the UER interface! Chris... /IE / Moz / Opera / Safari - much of a muchness. Except IE.. It's poo!

| | | I think it'd be cool if Av compiled stats on the browsers being used on UER. Personally, I got sick of the endless spyware and bullshit in IE, I switched to FireFox and have never looked back. I haven't had a single problem with it. Now whenever I do freelance computer work, I like to stealthily install it in place over IE. I also use thunderbird, which kicks Outlook Express' ass all over the place. On Mac I like Safari. A lot of people don't, but I do, just 'cause it's so freakin speedy and lightweight.

IE 10 years ago? Mmm, must have been a very early alpha version. hehe Internet Explorer 1.0 was released in the Plus! pack for Windows 95 and the first version you could download for free was version 2.0 in 1996.

| | | I had the same problem; wouldn't let me log in; I tried enabling cookies and all that; didn't work. Clear Cache was the magic bullet; I am now using firefox. In fact I used it to sell a ton of crap on ebay; I was tired of having to click away "sprybot has denied the download of Double Click". Four times. Look at ebay with Firefox, and there are no messages.
I got your tour winner right here pussies, at least he'd crash out trying. |

| | | there are still some things about firefox that i don't like, for example setting a background wallpaper for your desktop will set it as the desktop for all identities on your computer (and I can't figure out how to fix that shiz) but all in all i like it. lots better than IE.
