That's strange. I know there's been a few Utah sites posted on the forums. I'll have to get after my brother (gtpsrock) to post the ones of the asylum he shot.

Speaking for the Utah UE scene, I think just about everyone here is in agreement that the UE DB is an incredibly stupid idea.

I won't ever be contributing to it. If anyone else wants to that's their business, but most people here are more concerned with actual exploration rather than trying to impress people on the internet.

Yeah, because I feel sure the only reason people add stuff to the DB is for the mad Internet props. Certainly it couldn't be that they want to share photos and stories with others who might find them interesting.

We spent a long weekend in South Dakota, and found a lot of untapped UE potential. Lots of good pictures, too, check Eatstoomuchjam's threads in the photog forum.

Three of us aren't fans of putting stuff in the LDB, and the fourth is just too busy exploring.

I'm with Servo on this one.

Whatever. I post locations to the DB because when I got here, there was NO information about sites in Gary, Indiana. For those who don't know, Gary is kinda like Detroit, only smaller. Industrial boomtown gone abandoned ghetto. The city is roughly 35% abandoned, especially in the core area around downtown. It's not all about impressing people or "getting mad props" or any of that bullshit. It's about sharing what is local to you; I have hundreds of pictures of most of my LDB entries, but I usually only post 5-10 in the DB.

As for being too busy exploring, I can understand that; I only spend the time to add my stuff to the DB when I'm bored at home and can't sleep. Given the choice between picking through images, resizing, uploading, commenting, etc... or being on a 15 story rooftop in downtown Gary, sipping a beer and watching the sun set... well, I've been on 8+ story rooftops at least every other day for the last few weeks.

I was just wondering if there's noone from those specific states, or perhaps there's nothing to explore in those states (hah, yeah right!). I certainly didn't expect such a backlash of such jaded "the DB is for attention-starved assclowns" type bullshit.

But, being that you older members have seen places and decided to not share them with the rest of the class, I'd like to hear your justification for NOT spending the 15-20 minutes to write up a quick location and upload 5 pictures...

Mostly because I'll never be able to take a vacation to UTAH or IDAHO to go exploring. If I drive more than 90 minutes, I drive the 4 hours to Detroit and meet my friendly crew up there and do some skyscrapers...

devnull, the LDB has been controversial since the beginning. Here are the first two threads on it, and there are a lot of good reasons in them:

http://www.uer.ca/forum_showthread_archive.asp?fid=1&threadid=1851

There's no point in rehashing the whole debate again. Use the searh if you're curious. And please don't make me regret vouching for you.

Aww, you're breaking my heart. If you care that much about the locations to see in Utah, go to infiltration.org, go to worldwide links, then click on anything listed under Utah in the USA.

As for my justification for not including anything in the UE DB, I don't like it. I don't feel I need to justify anything. If you don't like it you should make a thread to bitch about how cruelly I'm treating you.

Yours is the only website listed there.
Not really much of an "anything".
I'd say it's a bit of a limited selection.

If those were my last words, I can do better.

That's hardly my fault.

You could try making a site of your own before whining about the lack of diversity in Utah UE websites.

You're absolutely right, of course, but that won't stop me from complaining.
Even if I could figure out how to set up a site, I'd have nothing at all to put on there, other than some half-assed pictures of the back halls of Crossroads Mall.

If those were my last words, I can do better.

Sounds like someone's trying to find the SLC tunnels. Heh heh heh.

Which hallways were you in? I've explored a few of them myself before being chased off by security.

The old mill looks badass, I haven't been inside but I know someone who's taken video of the inside. Mochi doesn't actually explore though, he just likes to talk about it a lot now. He's come with us on one or two trips but has been banned from deadplaces activities because he goes back to the places we explore to steal/vandalize. Plus he's just an ass in general.

Um. The... sure. Why not?
What are the SLC tunnels...?

With one friend, I started through the food court and ended up in the parking lot... we went back in through another door in the parking lot and wandered around a lot of stairways.
The second time, I was with two more friends... who were chattier, and also we were wearing chain pants. We turned directly... left, I think, up a staircase, and Security caught us at the top.
Do you play tic-tac-toe on walls?

If those were my last words, I can do better.
