Jurassic Valley: A Strange Happening Upon The Exinct

One brisk winter day, a few friends and myself were wandering the valley, in search of mysterious abandoned structures. Stories told the tale of a few in this particular area of the countryside, so we had high hopes in finding something worthwhile. The sun shined bright, and the frigid breeze stung upon my face. We searched for days and days for these strange, unknown abandonments; mythed to house historic wonders and puzzling works of art, made by cans of paint. It started to seem as if we were on the track to failure. We were close to losing all hope..

All of a sudden we caught a glimpse of something that stood so high, it shielded the sun.
We approached slowly..

Could this be?! Real.. Live.. Dinosaurs!?

1.

2.

And to think, we thought they had been extinct for millions of years, with the exception of birds of course.
Our adventure suddenly proved to be worthwhile. The days we spent traveling in crude and subzero conditions weren't all for nothing.
As we came within only several yards, we noticed something.. Not only were these colossal beasts wandering freely in front of our eyes, but can you believe they were guarding some sort of perplex abandoned structure, as well?!

3.

Odd, ancient scribbles covered the building. I have yet to decipher what it all means.

4.

5.

After UERing* the structure, we decided to get a bit closer to the prehistoric creatures.

6.

7.

Oh look, a cute Triceratops!
We approach..

8.

He seemed to be quite friendly, although it appeared someone had cut his horns. Poor guy.

9.

After riding the Triceratops around for a while, my buddy, Khameleon became quite excited as he noticed a larger structure in the near distance.

10.

We decided to quit risking our lives around the Tyrannosaurus Rex and headed that way. It was time to do what we traveled all this way to do, UER* an abandoned building, forgotten in time and preserved by the arctic conditions.

11.

12.

After walking the perimeter of the outside and finding no open passages, we decided to call it a day and make the long journey back home.

13.

The day proved to be a success. We encountered fascinating dinosaurs and two mysterious abandoned structures. These are the types of stories you'll one day tell your grand-kids. This was an adventure i shall not soon forgot.

* - "UER": A term discovered in historic writings, which loosely translated, means the action of exploring a man-made (and sometimes natural) structure or subterranean tunnel.

Firstly: Awesome location. I've seen shots of this place before, but I enjoy your storytelling!

You make this fun, which is what I think this is all about anyway. You haven't let the elitist mentality devour your soul quite yet. That's great.

I will, just for your own information, correct you nicely on something I noticed: if you are using UE as a verb, it should stay UE, not UER. The "r" is for resource. So you are UEing this place.

The only reason I bother mentioning is to ward off the troll legion moving in:

"UER's not a verb, [insert random insult]"

Kudos. Keep it up. I like the stories.

EDITED: You're profile says three years, not three months; I'm an idiot.

Thank you much! Sometimes you just need to not be so serious. I can't see anything serious coming from a miniature golf course with dinosaurs anyways. Heh.
Also, thanks for the correction, but i already know. Saying "UERing things" is just an inside joke. Haha.

Now that I've become the grumpy UER member, I think I remember seeing this term around.

I'll just adopt the term and go with it, and we'll forget this ever happened. ;)

I can't believe you didn't climb up on any of them and have your photo taken riding the dinosaur!

Wouldn't i also have to use shoe polish on my skin, though? That seems like a lot of work.

This would be absolutely fantastic! Jesus was the biggest wine-o. No wonder everyone was convinced of his so-called "miracles." He had everyone wasted off that original grape drank!

The place does get pretty bushy. I definitely need to make a return trip later this year, and i may even dress like Jesus, just for Ed.

Is this Golf Central outside of Oshkosh?

I love dinosaur sculptures like these. Been meaning to do a trip to the much-visited abandoned Prehistoric Forest in Michigan (is it still worthy of making the trip to?) whenever I get out easterly again, as well as still functioning Dinosaur Land in Virginia.

You are correct! One of the 4 dinos is pretty smashed, and someone spray-painted a dick and balls on the T-Rex, but they're still kickin' it. Have you been there?

I've never been to (or even heard of) the other two you mentioned.
