blown up house

so i was driving around out in the country yesterday, taking random roads to see where i'd end up and spot this house far back from the road. there was a fallen tree across the driveway so i risked it and parked up at the road, grabbed my camera and approached on foot. there it stood, partially burned and totally destroyed with Xmas decorations all over the place. while up on the front porch a car drove up seemingly out of nowhere. i walked down and there was an elderly man behind the wheel. he rolled down his window and we said our hellos, and i assured him i was just taking some photos. he was super cheerful and sounded delighted. told me that the place blew up 3 years ago after a gas valve leaked in the basement for a long time, but that luckily no one was home. said he was just wondering who's car was parked at the road and to go on and take all the pictures i want, and that if anyone comes up and gives me trouble, just send them straight to him. ha. he was awesome. good times.

I really like this set. The location of the house is beautiful. It looks like it's still autumn where you live. As far as the house goes, you've got some really nice shots. The fact that this location has a story behind it makes looking at the photos even more interesting as well. Definitely not your run of the mill abandoned house set. Nice work!

I like a lot of these also. I really like the color schemes in a lot of them, 9, 13, 14.

We don't often get snow here.

I like this. So thankful no one was home...but interesting that they left so much stuff. It seems like it blew around Christmas, too? ...sad also.

SOLID!

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Killer set of a redneck shithole. I love the macros and how crisp everything is.

"Are you happy now with all the choices you've made?" "Are there times in life when you know you should've stayed?"
"Will you compromise and then realize the price is too much to pay?" "Winners and losers... which one will you be today?"

thanks very much. this place was pretty cool and a nice relaxed explore for a change since i had full permission to hang out as long as i wanted. very weird tho how someone took the time to box up a lot of stuff on the porch, even hanging dresses on hangers out there, only to let it all get destroyed. who boxed up the stuff and why didn't anyone ever come back to get it?? i mean, WHO could ever leave that many wrestling magazines behind? am i right?
