I see that few people have been moved by the principle I'm fighting for, and have chosen to accept assumptions that are favored by their outrage over the crime that was charged.
I've also exhausted my enthusiasm for fighting for that principle, so I will take my leave. Good luck in bringing this fugitive to justice, and for the justice of the society you/we comprise.

Well, I totally agree with the principal you are fighting for, however in this case we are past the assumptions stage, the story has been corroborated, vetted, confirmed and yada yada...
I'm a strict believer in withholding judgment before evidence, but from everything I have heard the evidence exists. It's gone viral on facebook before this thread anyway, so no need for people to play devils advocate here.

I'm not defending his actions if he is guilty of hurting or molesting a child. If the accusations are true then I suppose he deserves to be caught and justice done. Regardless we don't know the details of the case. There probably aren't many people on these forums who don't deserve jail for breaking and entering or illegal drug use. Hurting a child is a much more serious offense I agree. I hope the child recovers and is safe now, and I hope if you see this iFUBAR, you'll turn yourself in.
I won't be the first to thrown stones here. I knew iFUBAR as a photographer, and fellow explorer on occasion. If he is guilty, he deserves to be punished, but even if so, he IS still a human being, and I think starting a mud-slinging contest by trashing him on UER forums when he isn't here to defend himself, is not very appropriate. iFUBAR, what happened?

My point is, flight does not imply guilt, it implies fear. I wouldn't say its impossible or probable, but that none of us have the right to be deciding his guilt or not. Let those involved with the situation and the courts deal with something like this, not an internet forum. Lets just make those unaware of the situation know not to get involved if he contacts them.
If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public!
If you want to make exploring friends, send people private messages! Meet up in real life! Get off the internet!

In my experience it wont matter if its unknowingly harboring a fugitive, its best everyone knew that he is a fugitive, because many cops will arrest you quick as they can over harboring, you can say you didn't know, but they'll charge you (being found innocent based on ignorance is another thing all together, but getting charged in general is a pain in the butt)

I don't know about that - it could be fear of the judicial system if he is innocent, or fear of being caught if he is guilty. Either way, it's disappointing that he chose to take matters into his own hands and skip out, putting less faith in others that he is innocent and only making his judicial matters that much worse.

I'm certain Av will decide whether or not this thread should be on the site. And I'm not going to lock it unless necessary. However, until I hear otherwise, I'm going to be enforcing the rules and deleting any post that identifies this guy beyond his username on UER. That includes posting his personal information or his photo, without his permission -- public or not.
I don't know him, nor the story behind this entire incident. So please don't take this as anything other than what it is -- my trying to enforce the rules and protect Av against potential legal action or other trouble.
