With all of the new Six Flags posts I feel a bit sheepish, but Billy and I had a grand time exploring this one.

Something I've always enjoyed about the sites I've chosen is the feeling you get every once in awhile of "stale excitement". It's amazing being somewhere that was loved so intensely in the past. It's almost present.

Anyway, it was a great site, and I hope to get back soon and get better shots.

Nice location. I'd really like to explore that one myself one day.

T'was definitely a gamble. It's funny...when we rode in, there were squad cars in the front parking lot...drove right past them. I guess my stealth levels have risen.

I appreciate the love, guys. I'm trying to get going again...Going to finally earn a little world icon by my name.

The coaster picture looks gnarly. So eerie.

This coaster was nice..

Called the Nightmare. An odd coincidence that here in Oklahoma we used to have a Nightmare at Frontier City when I was a kid, that is now abandoned and useless in the park. (Anyone have any intel on that one?)

I have seen one other park, Chippewa Lake park in Ohio (RIP), but I thought this one was a lot more accessible in terms of shots.

It was cool that it had the old braking system. This is a terrible shot my two year old could have bested, but here she is.

Here are a few shots coming out of the platform onto the tracks.

And my uneasy descent back. Didn't go all the way up; there be neighbors close, but got far enough to feel uncomfortable and turn around.

That shot really reminds me of some type of abandoned lumber mill or something. I actually like that picture. And I love that feeling of getting uncomfortable.

I can't tell you how many times I rode that coaster as a kid. Seems like not that long ago; however, was probably 20 years ago last time I rode it...

The Whacky Shack scared the shit out of me as a child!

I wish I could have seen it when it was open. I've seen videos. Looked like a lot of fun.

It's funny...When Billy! said, "Alright, let's go in", I hesitated for more than a second. Anyone seen Fun House? Yep...Creepy.

Thanks. I'm really proud of those shots. I think that's when I figured I was moving out of the "geez, these are all terrible" stage of my photography.

You know, it wasn't a half bad place. I grew up around Dodge City, so we would take an annual weekend trip for school shopping and stuff and always went there or FantaSea. I'm sure it wasn't as cool as I remember, but I always had some fun there and was the first real coaster I had ever rode.

That's really cool. Here in OKC we have Frontier City, which hasn't been doing too well in profits as of late.

I can only wonder where it will be in 20 years....maybe a post on UER.
