| | | Posted by dtewsacrificial I too think a monthly/bi-monthly meeting is a great idea. However, trying to secure a suitable place every time seems to be a-hell-and-a-half. Perhaps these computer-and-projector events can come at longer intervals, while between them there can be more casual bar/restaurant/cafe meets?

Apply a plethora of filters at small intervals (faded to 10-15 out of 100) 9. Save and back to Lightroom 10. Toy with VSCO filters to see if any of them look good Would you guys be interested if I did a video of an image from start to finish?

@Todd: Thanks. Step 6 was what I couldn't remember. Video = YES please. Regarding more frequent events, I'm into it, but it must not be on full moon weekends. Talking about exploration is going to cut into my exploration time though! Seriously, just hanging out with like minded folks more often sounds great. We've got to come up with a way to not have to pay any money for rent though.

they host lots of events at my work (in menlo park). if i can arrange, it wouldn't cost us a thing and lots of projectors/everything else that we would need.

| | | I agree, getting together more often would be great! As much as I enjoyed and benefited from the educational aspect of this last meetup, I agree that it doesn't have to happen every meetup, or maybe they could be less projector/laptop-dependent demonstrations. Depending on time of day and the particular place, most restaurants would be able to accommodate a large-ish group and set aside a room or section without additional cost over what's ordered. With all the logistics that go into planning explores, I'm confident that we can work out something as simple as a place for us all to hang out for a bit. My only request... somewhere quieter than the Lucky 13, please? I'd actually like to be able to hear what the person next to me is saying this time.

| | | so bummed we missed this. It sounds like it was a great time. We were unfortunately mourning a friend down in So Cal and couldn't make it back in time. I am very happy to hear that this could become a regular occurrence though. We have missed a lot of you silly people
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here." |

| | | I had an ING account and they created "the ING cafe" in downtown SF. Now it's the Capitol 1 360' cafe but all the same features. Drinks, free wifi, and you can reserve work spaces and host events (maybe still for free) http://cafes.capit...com/san_francisco/ Right next to Montgomery Street Bart and across the street from the Crocker Galleria (which has a rooftop garden to hang in as well and lots of food places in the area)
The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us? |

| | | One suggestion is that every get together doesn't necessarily require lecturing, etc.....we could always just get together to shoot the shit. I had a recent idea about possibly getting 3-4 very different explorers to talk about their type of exploring.....roof topping/mines/desert/extreme explores (something that has to seriously dodge security like the bay bridge, etc.) meaning, theres different risks with different types of exploring. i think it might be interesting to hear why people are willing to take certain risks for certain payoffs. Just a quick talk from 3 or 4 people and mostly hanging out and talking to each other......

| | | Hey all, Some of you expressed interest in having me throw together a post-processing walk through video at our event a few months ago. I'm still working on that, but for the time being, I'm giving a free presentation through my book publisher's website Tuesday, the 25th at 5pm. I'll be covering composition, my shooting methods and some more concepts that are in my book. And some that aren't. Register at the link below and let me know if you have anything you'd like me to cover specifically. http://www.peachpi...-photo-club-137633 [last edit 2/12/2014 3:19 AM by siper - edited 1 times]

| | | Is this at an actual venue? Location not given on the site, and they seem to be geared towards webcasts... yet it says limited space available.

Yeah, it's an online event. I think they limit it due to bandwidth. I haven't asked what the cap is though.
