| | | It would be awesome if he was inspired to do something other than another cliche shot of a wheelchair in a hallway. (which I'm guilty of doing a long time ago as well).

| | | Posted by Katharsys I dig on Andre Govia's photography. This article definitely didn't make my toes curl the way some that I've read recently do........**cough**placehacking**cough** as for moving stuff around, I totally do if I get inspired to for a photo.......and god help you if you happen to be exploring with me and there's a bunch of champagne flutes, a record player, a chair, and a 1992 edition of the Bangkok times laying around. (guess it's the set-designer/costumer in me) I am very careful with things that I do decide to move around though. 1.

Now this is the kind of 'moving' that I hate. To be honest I don't even like the result. To each their own of course, but by dragging stuff around like this you're probably fucking it up for a lot of people after you. Such cheesy set-ups are very annoying if you're trying to shoot the history of the place. I'm glad that I live 7000 kilometers away from your moving habit

| | | the dude has been around for a while and goes to crazy places. I believe he works in cinema so maybe he prefers to set a scene. Who cares if stuff is moved as long as it's not something absurd like a wheelchair in a beauty salon with 20 t.v.'s stacked on a gurney.

Meh.........All of the stuff stayed in the area where it was to begin with......I think I moved the chair a whopping ten feet. I'm all about preserving the "history of the place," but a big moment in the history of that particular section of the place happens to be all the strange and cheesy things laying around in piles. I'll keep my cheese

Nah I agree. Unless you are the first person in since it closed, things have already been moved. Even while a place is shutting down, things will be moved and packed up by workers or the owners. Rarely are things ever in there natural positions. I move things all the time.

Well said. Too each their own.

Fair enough. Seems like a weird place for a vintage record player anyways. Your example probably didn't do much damage to the setting, but there have been places that have gone to shit by moving stuff. I know some houses in Belgium which had been untouched for 60 or 70 years until their discovery. After a year or so things had been dragged through the entire house so many times that in the end it looked all fake, things had beenb broken and the natural decay was ruined. No hard feelings, I just get itchy when such beautiful things are disturbed ;)
