| | | Sometimes, late at night, instead of turning on the lights around my place, i just grab my headlamp and use it to find my way around. Occasionally, i find myself putting on rubber boots, instead of dress shoes. One of these days i'm going to show up to work wearing those suckers and not even realize it until i'm sitting at my cube. Does anyone else find themselves doing/using things they wouldn't've originally done/used, if it wasn't for errbex? Of course you do! Whatchya got?!

| | | Yeah, UE-inspired gardening is a thing. Flowers look best with rusted metal, right?

| | | Thanks! And yep it's one of mine. I was actually thinking of doing a gardening thread, but all my plants look like crap right now.

It was a bad year. I had a very minimal haul.

Container gardening? I've always thought that was hard, though of course some people do great with it. I say go ahead and get that house, your plants will like it.

| | | I always sit on my chairs so they don't feel so lonely. Very creative question, relik. I like the gardening setup there, hotwired.

| | | Power went out yesterday for the whole neighborhood while I was at work, I am pleased to say I was the only one who carries a headlight daily

| | | My friends make fun of my headlamp until we're camping/power goes out. Funny thing is, I don't use it while exploring. I am also adept into "breaking" into the house should we be locked out.

| | | While i was driving to work the other day, there was a real bad accident, and all the streets surrounding my place of work were blocked off. So, i parked my car and tried walking through, but they wouldn't even let me pass. So, i popped a manhole and took the underway. Problem solved. Nah, just kidding. I work 3 blocks from my house, so i just hoof it. I'd probably do that though, if need be. And if i had a crowbar on me.

I thought for some reason that I was on a Gardening board on here, but it was just a Gardening thread in the Cooking board that I post in that I was thinking of. Oh well. There probably *IS* a gardening board though...
I use headlamps for everything. I have owned... 19 over the last 10 years, currently only have about 12-ish. I use them for just about anything at night. Reading, changing the oil in the truck, plugging wires into the back of my computer under the table, walking around the house at night without using the lights, doing laundry, etc. I keep one or two in the truck, one permanently mounted on a helmet, a couple in one backpack, a couple in another backpack, one in each toolbox, one in the bedroom, and a few more in a box. They're quite handy when you're blind-as-a-bat (and don't have sonar).
I also tend to use my vertical access equipment for a variety of other uses. Rubber boots are also easy to slip on to head down to the basement for something, or to walk out to the truck or in the back yard. My "Ninja X" exploring gloves I use for EVERYTHING as well.
Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =) |

| | | We were having problems at work with people stealing parts from the cars in the back lot, so I walked the boss around the perimeter showing him all the ways someone could get past the fence. He was kind of shocked, but we fixed the issues and the thefts stopped. Hooray.

| | | I had an interview recently where I was asked to prove I had the ability to generate creative content. I showed them a few photos I have taken in the past year and talked about them. Urbex really drives me to improve.
