*Sigh* Memories....
I used to love going to this place as a teen.
I'd rock the hell outta those batting cages and I even got maced there once by security! (imagine, this was BEFORE pepper spray )
I feel bad for all the local kids, even though it was a little run down it was lotsa fun and the management was really cool.
I applied for a management position there a few years back and the guy that interviewed me gave me tons of tokens and free golfing/racing passes. Clyde and I spent that whole day having a blast....but it's a good thing we didn't hit the snackbar....cuz on this particular trip it was infested with cockroaches

So after 35 years of providing good, clean (roaches aside), family fun to tons of kids, this place went belly-up. The property owners (next door) raised the rent and the lease wasn't renewed so the story goes

Great Job! The write-up made me laugh, you guys are too funny!

All the tacky colors and carpets, strange murals and machines remind me of my childhood. There's a place near me that looks exactly like this (just less ravaged).

Also, the Michael Jackson racing licence is awesome yet slightly creepy...

been meaning to get over to this place. nice writeup, the skee ball shot is sad, those were a lot of fun. my fav is the jurassic park flic looks like they still left a ton of stuff behind. I'm not down for the kitchen w/ roaches, many years ago my buddy worked there and would give me free pretzels and slurpees.

I remember taking my kids to the one here in Vegas. A few birthday parties there too. Like you say, sad that they seem to go the way of the dinosaur. Just the bones as a reminder of what they once were. Time invariable moves on.

Decreptitude and I scouted this spot out a couple weeks back, then the whole South Bay Crew +1 hit it after the Bunker BBQ. I remember coming here as a kid, getting your own drivers license was awesome.

We don't deface property like SOME people. Photoshop is a really handy little tool for getting rid of those "things" you don't want showing up in your shots.

Great, everyone. Great. I made it out there and met and got "stopped" by the night crew, whose advice was "go for it - don't get lost". I took a lap on one of the tracks; takes a while on foot. L8's

A photo of mine that didn't make the cut for other reasons (my tripod wasn't high enough to keep that UWA from tilting upwards to slant the buildings on the periphery). But uploaded to establish this fact.

Look under the middle "N" in communication. The rectangular dark spot. There was a shitacular sticker there that took me 10 minutes to scrape off to reveal that it had destroyed the natural decay/sun-bleaching of the dish.

Perhaps in time it will sun-bleach to approach a not-so-fucked-with state.

Leave only footprints. That pretty much says it all.

Nothing else. Not Nuka cola. Not Fairey. Not even sure what the last two that have to do with anything with UER. Regardless, anything left behind is trash that other folks have to deal with. Let's keep locations the way we left them.

Austie,Abby....thanks

Denvereen....shhhhh!

Yuichi....glad you made the trip. Who's the night crew?

TRUE...Look, when you first became a member on here I made a conscience decision not to go exploring with you. That is my right. You are friends with a group of people that I don't explore with. So what? We might not be friends/hang out together etc but we all share 1 common interest being on this site. We don't have to like each other right? That in itself does not give you the right to say that I "deface" locations as in "ruin and destroy". Malibu Grand Prix will be demo'd within a few months. Not sure if you guys got inside but it was scrapped, full of roaches. I wouldn't call it a "historical treasure" but I still wouldn't damage/destroy any part of it.
Those who have explored with us know that we respect locations.
We have contributed/shared tons of places, added gads of stuff to the database.
If we sign our names on dry erase/chalkboards, draw a sidewalk chalk heart or put a sticker on some pole of a scrapped out/graffiti covered/half burned down/set for demo/location....CMON! I wouldn't dream of ruining something with spraypaint (dunno what you meant with "greasepaint".....that is something clowns paint on their faces so maybe YOU know something about that )
As for destroying ANYTHING just the fact we exposed Railguy should prove that we are AGAINST any kind of vandalism....and he was our FRIEND at one point!
We don't even B&E and I know for a FACT some people on here have done that.
We been playing golf at this location since it closed in August and have watched it slowly get more and more trashed, beer bottles, broken glass, the houses getting toppled/cars disappearing. It's sad because if you have a connection to certain places (in this case I went there a lot as a kid) it feels more "personal". Even though I don't care for your group of pals I was actually kinda stoked that more people got to see it before it was gone

Dtewsacrificial....Obey stickers are universal, ours are the cheap ones that peel right off....ask Boosted
