This. We already have quite a bit of data out there going on this topic. It sounds like you could benefit from a HALF-mask respirator. A full mask is only necessary in areas where you're at harm from contaminants which are easily absorbed through your eyes. Full masks are more uncomfortable to wear, and have more issues with using things against your face. If you *actually* read through those two threads, instead of just ignoring them, you should find most all of the information you're looking for.
My mine exploring crew members and our associates only use full-masks when the situation calls for it. For example, a uranium mine which was thick with air-laden radon and required full-masks and SCBA breathing aparatus. Otherwise, a half-mask should take care of most of your "respiratory" issues. And there are some really great N95 type disposables out there as well.

Thanks! I've just been so much more conscious about it lately. Actually wore a mask through a factory today AFTER they had cleaned asbestos out almost half a year ago...crazy...unlike my usual self and that is probably a good thing.

| | | I usually wear my N-100 in "cloudy" looking spots. If you can see what your breathing odds are you don't want to take the gamble. None the less I carry my mask EVERYWHERE. Why not take the precaution? Yeah it's a bit cumbersome but asbestos is nothing to take lightly. Use your best judgement, if at all keep it on you at all times.
