| | | Posted by Vampirequeen Crap! This place was pretty low of my list of places that I want to explore, but now it's been bumped up pretty high. According to a friend in NJ, the land has already been sold, so the best we can do is hope that the person who owns the land has an extremely miraculous change of heart and decides to preserve it.
|
The land is owned by the town. It was sold by the state for one dollar a couple years back. Was it an explorer who told you that?

| | | I did not know that. He's not, so he may or may not have lost track of time with that. Oh well, my mistake. Sorry.

| | | Anytime I've ever called or written a politician of any kind they do a great job of making you feel like you really matter and that your needs will be addressed. If anything actually happens.........who knows. They seemed very interested when I talked up how successful TALA has been and how much it impacted the local economy. Like other's I have a really bad feeling there was a deal in place before all this even took place and the feasibility study, etc. was just done as a formality. Time will tell.

| | | Looks like this group is trying to save the building, or at least some of it. Not trying to start a debate about how feasible or unfeasible it would be to save anything of what is left, just wanted to share a group of people who are doing what they can to save something amazing. http://www.preservegreystone.org/ Some cool old pictures taken in a lot of the different buildings in their galleries.
Lots more on that site.
