(Viewed 331 times) Finrod   |  steam tunnel key? < on 7/9/2004 3:22 AM >   i am from Madison Wis. and as some of you may know we have an extensive steam tunnel system under campus. the thing is on most of the access grates there is some sort of lock mechanism that looks like a metal cylinder with a sort of gouge cut out of it. I tried to post an image of it but couldn't but will as soon as I can. i assume there is some sort of key that fits into the cylinder to turn it. Does anyone have any ideas on where to find one of these grate keys or any other way to open this kind of grate? Freak  Location: Usually Alaska, now MSP. If so, you can get the top part off with a screwdriver, but you'll likely find a real lock underneath. It's just a cover for a real locking mechanism.
