Well I dig the first one, some may say it is slighlty askew, but I think its more or less the building off center . Second one deff off center.

I like the first shot. The subject is stronger, easier to recognize. The slight tilt doesn't bother me. It goes with the dilapidation.
The second shot's sky is great, but the subject isn't very appealing. A viewer will have to work harder to figure out what it is.

The difference between the first picture and the second is enormous!

1. is great! sharpness, colours, dynamic, image structure..

2. is really boring. looks like two different photographers.

When did u photograph the first and the second photographs?

The second photo was taken on august 4th i believe
The first one on august 5th - Found it by chance Train was coming at a nearby rail crossing. (Love trains)

To give the second one some possible context - http://www.uer.ca/...=1&threadid=110390

Couldn't tell you where the first one is located but I took a photo of it as well. I remember it was in a field off to the right of the road and I believe it's north of Cobalt. There are many old vehicles and mines up that way.

#1 is excellent.
Needs to be rotated a hair counter-clockwise. Maybe line it up with the foreground most corner of the building to straighten it.
Needs the brightness cranked down a bit, the roof color is washed out and doesn't show, what I expect, is some awesome rusting decay.

The darkness of the building, bright blue and bright green tie the whole thing together REALLY nice. This is just a really good photo!

#2
rotate counterclockwise BIG time.
pull the shadows out, maybe bring the exposure down some and add a tad bit of contrast to give the clouds a deeper more epic look.
I would also crop more of the foreground out, or perhaps just have taken the shot closer to the building.
