I always forget how shitty people can act on here.

I wish I was part of this project. I knew nothing about it until it was over.
Thanks for sharing your pics, Keys.

Do you know when the estimated time this project will be online for us to see? I'd love to see the end result.

Thanks Man, we're currently in process of the organization of thousands of images from all the photographers. We hope to have a temporary blog style site up in the next month or so. we are also building a fan base and posting collectively at www.facebook.com/ProjectKirkbride the full site is aimed to be open in about 4-5 months with walk thru rendering done in less than a year. Once that is done, we are giving it to the Otter tail County Historical Society as a permanent online exhibition. We hope at that time to line up another Kirkbride and repeat the process...Hopefully a smoother process based on what we learned

Nice pics.

Kirkbrides have some kind of magical quality - when some explore them they suddenly become instant experts in the field of mental health and just like, understand things on a deeper level man, because they stepped inside an abandoned building. Then they have some imaginary special claim to a location and shit on anyone else's efforts.

"what about preserving a photographic copy of every square inch of the Fergus Falls State Hospital before they demo or repurpose it"

So are they demo'ing it? What is the plan for it?

I fail to see what the problem is with this project. Nobody forced anyone to donate. If you don't want anything to do with it, don't donate, don't bother looking, and just shut the fuck up.

Weird thing is Thomas Kirkbride and the Kirkbride Plan are not mentioned in any history of psychology or psychiatry, not even as a footnote...zero influence on the history/development of mental health...why are they so significant? Is in only in the urban exploring community?

Idk, a lot of psych centers here are very well aware of Kirkbride, but then again he's from Philly..
