| | | Not sure if this has been shared here before. Kansas State University has developed a neat little center for rural studies called the Chapman Center. It's named after a guy named Mark Chapman who donated the funds for the center- he's from a town called Broughton that was bulldozed for Tuttle Creek Reservoir. A big endeavor for the center is an archive of lost towns that contains 'sketches' written by undergrads and graduate students that take a class called 'lost communities of Kansas'. The writing isn't always professional but the students at least uncover some interesting stories and map out communities that have disappeared or are on their way. Share any stories if you're familiar with some of these towns. Thanks http://lostkscommunities.omeka.net/

| | | That's pretty neat. When I lived in KS, I went through Fitzgerald's books and hit every location he listed. Ghost Towns of Kansas: A Traveler's Guide http://www.amazon....uide/dp/0700603689
