| | | | Anyone can technically attempt this. The reasons more seasoned members do it though is because of the fact they can draw a larger crowd (having met and know more people since they have been here) and usually the more active and older members have a wider variety of locations they can offer up to people who are flying/driving from hundreds of miles away.
Having set up a bunch of smaller meetups, I would most likely never try for a larger one. Also, older members have been to other meetups and kind of know how they work and stuff. They are a lot of work to setup. I think the only person I know who enjoys the fuck out of it and has mad skill for it is DJCraig.
That being said, I would try a smaller meet & greet if I were you. Then again, if you wanna tackle it...go for it and good luck.
