| | Questions regarding Impossible City (Fort Ord: Monterey, CA) < on 2/8/2013 7:20 PM >
| | | This isn't your standard "Where is this place?" thread -- however, this is my first thread, so hopefully this is in the correct section for the info I'm looking for.
So I've scoured the grounds of Ord and found the church, swimming pool, barracks, factory thing, prison, etc. etc. etc. (I'll post pics at the end of this for proof)
It actually took us two separate trips just to do those things and there's still areas we haven't even gotten to yet.
Anyway, so we just did a 3rd trip about 2 weekends ago and made it out to Impossible City -- all we saw was the "city block" area because we weren't too sure how far out of that area we could go and still be "safe" from being spotted so we didn't get to see the little training courses, firing ranges, tunnels etc. My question is -- that's a freaking FBI operated military training site so realistically: 1) How high is the potential for being caught 2) Would getting caught be as bad as it sounds?
We got stopped by police when we were exiting the barracks area on our 2nd visit but he just wanted to check us for obvious evidence of vandalism (paint marks, markers, etc) but we were just out there looking around (although we were wearing our P100 masks so it looked as though we were graffiti writers, but he just let us go with a "trespass warning" Impossible City seems much more intense than the barracks though so I'm wondering if there's a significant risk -- I'd like to go back, but I also don't want to get the book thrown at me for just wanting to look around out there

| | | Don't mean to derail your thread, but Monterey really is a beautiful place to see.
