I went in last month. It was really easy at the time, but it sounds like that entrance has been patched up.

Here are my pictures. They are all unedited jpeg's. I took raw photos, but don't have decent software to edit them yet.

A couple for the board though.

I plan on going back at some point. I was only inside for an hour and a half before it got dark and the hallways got way creepy. I drive out to Graham once a week so it's not far to divert on the way there.

Just saw this today.

It sounds like The Baker Hotel restoration might end up going through. All the more reason to go back soon. Just need to get a 17-55mm f2.8.

I'm down for going if there's something being planned.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

The Baker is my fave Saturday destination. I've never been inside...too scared to get busted. Maybe one day!

Great photos, I especially love the first one. It doesn't need any editing.

is THIS.

http://www.travelc...pisodes/crazy-town

effing morons.
the cops already have nothing better to do than to catch someone trying to get inside. yeah - there is a HUGE meth situation out there but they also really seem to enjoy keeping people out of here. no - it hasn't been impossible before - but this will make it damn near for awhile. we all know that the renovation is never going to happen so eventually it will cool off...i hope.

I hate those Jack offs.

Also I would be up for the workshop too. Dependent on price of course.

Suuuper late in the game, but I'd totally love to do a workshop if you decide to do another one I've only been by the Baker once and we couldn't get in, it was super sad given that I'd driven out from Austin. Someday...

What's the latest new on this location? Is there any contact info for the owner or property manager?

while i have not tried contacting the owner myself - many others have - to no avail. you can probably get the contact information from the city - or someone on here might have it too but i wouldnt hold your breath on that one...i dont think dude has ever said yes to someone wanting to get inside. it seems people have been getting in lately but i was also told just a couple of weeks ago that it has been sealed up again. a couple of my friends went out and were greeted by mineral wells finest - fortunately they were just on street level and were told to go no further than they already had. they chatted up the men in blue for a bit who told them (could be bullshit on their part - who knows) that on average they arrest a handful of people every week either trying to get in or just as they exit.

It seems as though, 5 years on from my first-ever visit here, this place has just about hit "visibility critical mass", by which I mean, it's popularity and reputation is now so great that explorer traffic has grown to a level which has triggered a better organized and concerted effort on the part of the city to police the place. It probably doesn't help that, most likely, many of the new would-be "explorers" are inexperienced at operating below the radar and avoiding detection and apprehension as well.
