Greetings + A report from London

What better way to introduce myself than with a report?

My name is Twizt, I'm a photographer from London and I've recently gotten in to Urban Exploring. I've met a few like minded individuals of varying experience levels and we've begun hitting up a few sites in the West of London.

This particular one is a former storage firm's warehouse that was bought up by a Hotel chain for redevelopment, which hasn't happened yet but is probably due to start sometime soon.

A place to sit and facepalm when you realise you made the entry harder than it needed to be.

Sorry guys, this is a no smoking explore.

Because this isn't how horror movies start...

Curiously, this inner side of the shutters remained graffiti free, whereas the outer side was covered in tags.

Broken windows and broken doors.

The back side of the lift shaft.

I got 99 problems but this caption ain't one.

A quick look down the building.

Eastern facing side of the exterior, apologies for softness, my tripod plate was a wee bit loose.

How the building looks from the street.

Nice first post! I like the light in the third shot.

Thanks a lot guys. This was my first attempt at light painting, so I'm really pleased with how the shots turned out.

As for my alias, I can't remember how I came up with it, there's every chance it's music related, but I came up with it when I was about 16 and dusted it off when I got into UrbEx, haha.

I assumed the band Twiztid (not that I am a fan).

edit: Btw, the sky in the photo of the building from the street is gorgeous.

Twiztid may well have been the reference, in fact it probably was, I was into ICP when I was at school.

Glad you guys liked the pics.

The sky is a lovely product of London light pollution at midnight, plus a 12 second exposure at F9-ish I think and ISO1600

Hey welcome to the forums, I am flying through London, but alas won't be on the deck long enough to enjoy myself.

You'll come to find that in UE, most of your shooting will be done at wide open, which will let you drop that ISO for crisper shots.
Great lightpainting, too--I couldn't at first tell if these were taken during the day or night until a few photos in.

Glad to have you aboard!

Thanks very much.

I'll undoubtedly go back to using a wider aperture and lower ISO for the external shots, thankfully the last one came out just as I wanted it, so I wasn't as fussed about missing the focus on the first one.
