| | New to UER, not new to UE....I also accidentally posted this in the UE Main forum... < on 9/28/2012 6:26 AM >
| | | Hi everybody! SO I've been exploring and infiltrating places for a few years now but have just recently joined UER. This place is great so far! I recently moved to San Diego and, unfortunately, have left my fellow explorer friends behind and thought this would be a great place to see what sites and photos other had to offer and maybe even make some new friends to explore with. Anywho, I take pictures occasionally during my trips but they've always been for personal memories, not to post; so most of them aren't very good. However, now that I have a place to share them, I believe I'll work on my photography skills. So to sign off on my first official post, here are some pictures of some utility tunnels at an Oregon college (I also have a photo of an official map of the tunnels that I acquired from a careless security guard but I'm still unsure about rules about posting specifics about sites. I can post it later if I'm told it's ok) Remember these photos were originally meant just for me, so please be gentle. They will get better with time.

| | | Not too shabby!
It looks like you're into tunnels, and if you want to get some good photos with that darkness, you're going to want to do a couple things. First, get a camera that you can do a long exposure with. My first camera was an old canon powershot that I got off of Ebay for 20 bucks. Next, get a tripod to put your camera on.
Finally, do some long exposures! With some lightpainting: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=87098
That's just to get you started with the photography. Practice, practice, practice...and the rule of thirds.
Anyways, if there's any meetups in your area, go ahead and make some new friends!
P.S. I'm loving the braided home depot rope! That's how I started into SRT [last edit 9/28/2012 6:32 AM by -insertnamehere- - edited 1 times]

| | | Welcome to UER! Give it time and this place will help you improve alot, so just having the desire to get better will do alot for you. It just seems to happen regardless.

| | | Welcome! If you're into tunnels and drains you're in good company. I'd hold off on posting that map, though.

| | | Thanks guys! I'm gonna look into some long exposure stuff to get some better pictures to share. Honestly, I'm really into draining and tunnels, but my main interest has been roofing. Most of my photos are roof photos but usually have me in the picture and, like site specifics, I'm unsure about the safety of posting my face...

| | | Welcome to the forum! Drains are pretty amazing, and like others said tripods will do wonders for what you can capture in the dim lighting.

Haha. Nobody here gives a shit what your face looks like. Just check out the portrait thread. And weirding. Be proud to br where you aren't supposed to be. I'm curious as to what college this is being I'm from Portland. But am enjoying abandonment here in Pennsylvania where I now reside. Good first post. Mine was leaps Ans bounds shittier than this. This was at SOU. I had found a POE to some at U of O while I took some summer classes there but ran out of time before I was able to take advantage of it.
