New to Houston

Hey explorers, just moved to Houston and started a new job. It's part time right now and I'm hoping to take advantage of that and get some good explorations in. Anyone in the area care to help me get oriented or want to do exploring in the near future?
I'm living kinda in the hood right now because it's all I could afford (off Antoine), so if you've got any good suggestions for recreation - exploration or not - fill me in while I get used to the city.

Just realized your location is Cypress. I'm right down the road from you. FM 529 and Hwy 6.

I am not located in the great town of Galveston. Let me know when you wanna come down. I would be more than happy to hang out.

We were supposed to hang out Tuesday yet you never text me. Stupid 610 was closed Tuesday night. Took forever to get around it since they pushed all lanes of traffic into the center median to bypass the mess.

Fairly recent Houston resident also looking for some exploration buddies. I grew up in the Spring area and finally returned here after many years away. Tried some UE in New England and the Midwest over the years but haven't done anything in Houston area. Galveston probably has some great spots.

If anyone is up to an adventure, please let me know! Btw, I'm a high school history teacher so I really love the old stuff!

WB to Houston! I'm available most of the time. Let me know if you would like to get together sometime, you can pm me and then we can go from there. Oh and I live in the Hobby area.

There aren't too many places anymore but I'd be more than happy to show you around.

I feel like I should sit and plan another meetup here in Galveston. Or plan one for Houston.

How many people would be interested in that?

Holy crap! I wasn't aware there were this many active members in the area. I'm glad to see you all! I've been out of the scene for a while, but I'm thinking of dipping my toes back in soon. I've only done one or two locations around here, and they are all sadly demolished. :[
A meetup might be awesome, Astro! I'm located in Houston, and honestly can't get terribly far outside the 610 loop area, but if there's something like a meetup in this area, I'd do what I can to make it.

You know I'm down Astro!

Johnny Mnemonic, they barely started popping up, lol For the longest it was just Astro and I. I'd be willing to pick you up if needed. What area you live in?

Yeah, for a long time, the only person I knew over here from the community was SecretSquirrel and another guy whose handle escapes me. I was in Dallas for quite a while, and was doing the meetups over there, for a brief time. I miss meetups like that.

I appreciate the offer for a ride! Honestly, though, I may be able to get around, but if it comes down to it, we'll certainly see. Mostly I'm just concerned about having stuff to do, my schedule is one of the reasons I've been prevented from exploring as much as I'd like. I'm near the Medical Center area, but the Galleria area and Downtown are relatively easy to get to from here.

Secretsquirrel is still around. Saw him Saturday. Other person might've been Jason?

Edit: Oh and I'm in the Hobby area. About 10 minutes from downtown.
