I also use a respirator and also the P100. I believe this is the one I have:
http://www.homedep...d=-1&storeId=10051

You just never know. Been in one place that I wouldn't have been able to go into if I didn't have it. It REALLY reeked!!!

I have the same.
I just wear it when I go in an old building. Better safe than sorry.

I don't know why that mask is 358$

If you want good cheap setup go to a welding supply.

You can buy the face mask and some p100's for about 35-40$. I use this setup for welding where I burning through paint and other toxic crap. It works great. Also keep your filters in a plastic bag when not in use so they don't absorb stuff from the air and wear out quicker.

I use a half-face style from 3M with P100 filters. Wouldn't trust less, haven't needed more.

I have this one I got at Home Depot for $40.

After a few explores, I noticed I would come home and feel very "blah", so it made me think I should get a respirator. I haven't used it much, but the times I used it I did notice I didn't feel as bad afterwords.

I just ended up going down to my local Castorama and buying a "New Eurmask" with paint filters. It's not the cheapest, but it's better to have one than not have one. Used it the other day when using chemicals and it appeared to work wonders.

And it's not pink

Full-face ones are a bit excessive... I bought mine from this Etsy dude (link below) and he's recently come up with some cooler themed ones. You have to buy the filters yourself, and buy the masks with the thicker encasement for the filters, but I love mine.

Those are sort of neat. I don't know, I think the 3M one I use is sufficient.
How well does it work with all of that mesh?

He said that the background color inhibits the airflow, but the image itself doesn't effect anything. So, if you want a background, buy a colored filter and kill two birds with one stone.

I've sent the shop owner a message to see if he can give us a deal for being part of the forum. I'll keep this thread updated and send am admin a message if I'm successful.

I struck a deal with the gas mask mister on Etsy. I'll make a post when we have all of the details settled; don't go buy something else just yet. ^.^ Probably 15% off of his site. More to come!

Damn, how did I miss that.

And unfortunately, all p100 filters are color coded pink. It's some sort of industry standard.

I believe in the US you can get different colors as long as it says it is a p100 you should be safe from asbestos (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

http://www.respira...ference-Chart.html

But mine come as cartridges with a minimal sticker on them. They are purple (magenta) and according to the color system they protect against some vapors as well as particulates.

(Edit) Although Rust I think is right when it comes to the actual filters being pink... mine might just be concealed inside my cartridge???

Does pink fall into the "purple" category then?

I wish! Though pink usually means "HEPA" filters in the USA, but that is a new industry regulation (2009), so dont that that as a 100% proof.

Deal confirmed. I'm talking to Avatar to see if he can make a post in the "Other forum," as the guy wants to keep the code private. Message me for it if you're in a hurry and I'll pass the code along!

Otherwise, look out for a post in the next week.
