Got my 3rd camera!

As most know I have come a long way and have had many cameras and I just bought my new Nikon D7000 which I saved up for all summer and school year for. Can't wait to start shooting tomorrow.

Congratulations. What are your other two, and what lenses did you get for your D7000?

I could only afford the kit lens but I am saving up for a 18-200mm. My last Cameras were a Nikon D3100, L110 CoolPix, and a Underwater camera i used.

Congrats on the new camera.

I'm a D7000 man myself. I usually lurk on this sight as I don't do any UE, I'm just a big fan who appreciates the photography and the subject matter. Not doing any Urban Exploration myself I don't know what glass is recommended but my favorite lens is a 35mm 1.8 and it cost around $250.

Either way, great camera, have fun and I can't wait to see some pics from it.

Cheers

If you are looking for a good (and fairly inexpensive) lens for urbex that goes well with the d7000 I'd recommend the Sigma 10-20 (http://www.dprevie...ma_10-20_4-5p6_n15) It's not a very fast lens but you'll want a tripod and a good depth of field for urbex anyway. I even use it a lot for portraits when I have my speedlight or good natural lighting

I personally love the Nikkor 18-70mm, it's a cheap (price wise) zoom, but damn it is a tank and the optics are great for the price. I also personally love the Tokina 11-16mm.

That's so cheap for a 1.8! Do you have a link?

It's not built very good but it's amazing for the price. Good glass and super light weight. Great for video too. The only problem with it is if you ever upgrade to full frame, this lens will not work.

I've never seen one for that much, I thought $250 was kinda pricey actually. They usually sell for around $150 around here!

Yup, not built incredibly strong but man do I love the quality of the pics.

When you say if you upgrade to FX it will not work, do you mean it just won't work in full frame? It'll still operate as a DX on an FX camera right? Hadn't thought about that.

Here's a link anyway, when I bought it there was a bit of a sale as well.

Yup, if you buy used you can usually find this glass for under $200 at least.

It's one of those lenses that's just so cheap and awesome every DX user should have one.

Here's some of my work with the 35mm, beware this is not urbex, just pics of my kids and birds and such hahaha:
