This theatre was first opened in 1949 and is a single theater movie theater. My father has told me stories of going and watching movies at this gorgeous landmark of the city. It sits right off the main highway and it really one of the trademarks of the city.

Closed on 1969, it has remained in relatively good shape, especially the exterior. In 2003 the city repainted it and restored the neon lights and for several years you could see the marquee lit at night. Now, it is used as city storage.

For as long as I can remember, this has been one of the primary buildings that inspired me to explore. This theater is really a small and trivial place opposed to the neighboring North's many elaborate theaters, but this one has always held my curiosity.

There are people who want dearly for this theater to open again, and they have tried to get the funds to restore it, but I don't see it being a reasonable thing to do for anything more than the history. It is a gorgeous and historic part of this city, but there would be no money to be made in this theater.

I intend to go back soon, when I do, I will get onto the balcony, but this trip was very time constrained.

Super cool, Astro. I love seeing historic sites that retain their original beauty and furnishings. It's rare when a property like this hasn't been trashed and tagged by folks with nothing better to do with their time. Well done. And please hurry back for those balcony shots!

Wonderful set there!
It looks like it could be restored. I did some work on places like that in Dallas.

I know looks can be deceiving but this building looks in great shape. We just worked on re-doing the Lyric Theater in Brownwood and if they can find support to do a renovation surely a town that's a suburb of Houston like Pasadena Can!

The front of the building is in great shape. But once you hit.the lobby things go downhill. It would probably cost about 2 million dollars to get the place.back where it nee ds to be but at the same time it would not roll a profit when opened unless it was used as like a venue or something. The city uses it.for storage right now, so they would have to find a place to relocate everything as well. It's a huge debate between the city and historians on what to do with it. So for now, it sits as we see it.

Thank you everyone for your compliments.
