Came across this today...

Randomly went for a walk earlier through the woods behind my house and came across these remains of what appears to be an old farm. Thought it was worth sharing. Also, 1.

Upon returning home from the walk I checked the location out on Google Earth and in the image I highlighted area 1 and 2 because that is where the structures I came across were, 3,4, and 5 I never seen due to the fact that the woods are so heavily grown up. I plan on checking out the large building in 3 tomorrow and will update on any finds.

The foliage here is incredible, I'd love to shoot it.

Where are you? That chimney all by itself looks VERY familiar to the remains of the cabin from the Evil Dead movies...

I am in the foothills of North Carolina on the out skirts of Shelby. I highly doubt its the same Chimney considering the location and density of the woods. As for an update on location 3, I haven't had a chance go out again yet, its only about a half mile from my back door but it took me about an hour one way last time due to the over grown brush.

Sweet, I love little finds like these. Wait till fall when the foliage has died back a little, you'll get better entrance and better shots. It doesn't look like it's going anywhere in the meantime. Summer kinda sucks for backwoods UE, doesn't it?

For some reason, I really like that shot of the squirrel amongst the brightly colored thingies on the ground.

Although the foliage is thick and a pain in the ass to walk in North Carolina is a beautiful place in the summer. I am pretty stoked that this is literally in my backyard, especially if we get any snow this year, I a feeling these buildings will make for some great shots covered in snow.

That squirrel scared the shit out of me due to the fact that it was all quite on the western front and the little guy came tumbling out of a tree and landed a few feet in front of me, I snapped the two shots before he had another go at attempting to climb lol.
