| | | Wow... I really was expecting a welcoming group here. I know of plenty places (there is a guide on this site with a list of locations after all), and have googled to the end of google. However, I posted here hoping to get info from some seasoned UR'ers being that 1-I am a girl who doesnt want to get hurt in an old building, nor does my female UR'ing partner and 2-it was my first time so why not ask. I won't be asking for any help in the future clearly. Apparently "help" is a 4 letter word around here.

So, rather than read what everybody said about the whole "Find a buddy" and "don't ask for locations", you've decided to get all pissy and storm off. Maybe you missed the point of the responses in this thread. To be honest, when I saw you'd responded I was half looking forward to a "oh, I didn't see it that way, thank you for enlightening me" type of response, while the troll in me was looking for what you actually went with. Oddly enough I really don't feel like giving you both barrels about it. I guess it's enough to say that with your attitude, this place will miss you about as much as you'll miss it here: not at all. It's rare to see the square peg realize it doesn't fit in the round hole, but you've clearly figured out where you don't let yourself fit in, and have gone out of the way to stay square.

Point 1: Getting hurt in buildings isn't limited to girls Point 2: Asking to hang out with strangers on the internet is risky, maybe riskier than hanging out in old buildings- Point 3: -Especially for girls, if you insist on making this distinction. Point 4: I lost sympathy for you when this stopped being about getting trounced for asking for handouts and when it became a "be nice to me I'm a girl and so is my friend, we are delicate and likely to be hurt". Point 5: "help" actually contains four letters, yes. Good job.

I at least gave you a legitimate location. Thing is though, you cant use the 'girl' excuse with exploring in Philly. I know plenty of girls who explore Philly, Baltimore, and NYC. Secondly, if you are really that scared to explore in Philly then go find something outside of it? Or carry a gun. Besides that i dont know what to tell you.

You will come to a place where the streets are not marked. Some windows are lighted. But mostly they're darked. A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin! Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in? How much can you lose? How much can you win? |
