| | Packardbago and the 'Party' room < on 6/17/2012 2:07 AM >
| | | Well this guy made it up to the roof a week or so ago.
A few hours after I took this a fire from the floor below (which is still smoldering a week later) caught it on fire.
It teetered on the edge for a week, then
Sad-a-bago has a sad
Here is the art/part/rave room
This was over by the 'bago an just thought it was a cool tag
HEYYYY KOOL AID!!!

| | | I've spent countless hours wandering through this place and I'm dumbfounded that I've never stumbled upon the art room. That's pretty cool. It's inevitable all going to burn sooner or later, though.

| | | lol "art room." i call it the piss room cause thats where i always take my initial piss when i arrive. whoever keeps rearranging that "art" has undoubtedly handled my piss at least once.

Hah ewww, I'm sure that's quite true as this is the first room passed when walking up to the plant from the south side and obviously the last room on the way back out. Yeeeaahhh, probably a lot of piss on that art.

Methinks every abandoned building has its "piss room"... Either that or I have a very small bladder.

I'm on probation for getting caught at DeHoCo, so I don't think I'll be going back for a while. I've seen pictures and heard reports of the arson division of DPD staking out the Packard since the latest spree of fires has broken out. Not going back until it dies down over there, at least.

There's ramps that are similar to a parking garage that go to the top.

| | | I seriously wonder about any 'staking out' of the Packard as there are fires there quite frequently. Last month I was driving home from work and I followed the trail of smoke until it led (surprise, surprise!) to a building in the complex. There was a truck there but no activity going on that indicated that they were actually trying to put it out. On my way back I saw 2 more fire trucks literally cruising along at perhaps 20 m.p.h. (no lights, no sirens) going toward the plant. When a few friends and I explored the place a couple weeks or so later, there were several other exploring parties present. There was also a 'live', roaring fire in one of the buildings (I can't recall which one off hand as I am not good w/ directions), yet no one came or cared. Personally, I think the city HOPES it will all get burned to the ground at some point.

No worries, good luck with the probation. Yeah I am waiting for the action to die down as well. It seems they are busting explorers not the scrapers. Saturday there was a mid 90s F250, 3 guys and a torch cutting beams on the 5th floor!

IIRC the guy who runs detroitfunk posted pics of a fire marshall or two around the property and said they'd been there watching for days. Obviously it didn't help at all, but I think a handful of scrappers did get nabbed. [last edit 9/1/2012 2:19 AM by DSomms - edited 1 times]
