What are your triggers? Do you have medication? Is it controlled?

At least one other member is an epileptic though he suffers from it primarily while sleeping, not a day thing. You might wanna avoid climbing things or being near edges, ledges, and anyplace falling down would be bad.

As long as it is well controlled & you let others know of your condition in case of an incident. I think it is fine. Its your health & safety so if you are comfortable with it, go for it.

Seems you have got it handled. Just make sure the people you explore with know and possibly tell them what to do should you have a seizure. There isn't a whole lot else you can do and there is not point in letting it hold you back from doing things if they aren't causing seizures.

Yeah, I agree that letting the folks you are with know 100% what to expect is very important. Give them the full details so they know when to get help, and when to just keep you from hurting yourself. Otherwise come on and get out there. But, on a side note, I would NEVER go alone with ANY condition that could render me unable to control my motor functions just due to the added danger that doesn't have to be there if you have friends along.

Location, location, location. I'd start out with easy in-and-outs, low visibility or little to no security. Something you can park right near, we've all got one of these places.

Regardless of where it happens, you're going to end up at a doctor. Might as well bring your friend on your own and avoid the police.

epilepsy management plan, if you have one, share it....I'd tell people what to expect. in my line of work i have a lot of clients with epilepsy and i've seen even trained staff freeze in panic when a client has s seizure and it's the first time they've had to deal with it.

as you know it can be no big drama if the people with you know what to expect and how to assist you.

but they should know, and you should tell them, you go exploring having made the choice knowing a seizure in certain places could be life threatening if help cant reach you.

All good advise. I'll add one more thing; don't be offended if some people are too afraid that they couldn't respond appropriately and don't want to explore with you. It doesn't mean they don't think you are a good explorer, just that they don't feel that they know what to do should you have a seizure.

With time, some of them will get to know you and become comfortable exploring with you. Others, will never overcome their fear.

Regardless of your condition, it is always good to let people know just in case something goes wrong.

I would'nt hesitate to go exploring with someone with epilepsy. Dont let it hold you back either.
