New to UER. Lookin for spots in Houston
< on 5/5/2012 2:43 AM >
Posted on Forum: UER Forum

So I just moved out to Houston, more specifically Stafford, from San Diego California a few months ago. I never realized there was such a following to urban exploring til recently. I used to love exploring tunnels and abandoned buildings back home.

So Im here lookin for some suggestions on places to check out in my are.
I've seen the Imperial Sugar builing in Sugar land but havent done too much investigating to make sure its abandoned and how hard it would be. I read there used to be another building that got demo'd.

Also, I keep seeing stuff about this "texas door" probably a dumb question but whats the deal with that?

Rule 1 about the Texas Door: We don't talk about the Texas door.

I am in the Houston area. PM me and we can meet up to explore sometimes, summer is just around the corner and I am yearning to get out and explore. There is another Californian who just moved here (he's a complete asshole), maybe we can all meet up. Like I said, shoot me a PM and we can check some stuff out.

P.S. Asking for handouts its a no-no. This is a slap on the wrist, next time I will throw grenades. Because I like boom.

Yeah fuck that guy! In fact, here in Texas, we shoot Californians on site!

Welcome to the forums Mr/Ms San Diego. I am from the IE. Why in the hell did you move here?

Oh and what Astro said about rules and blah blah blah. I think somewhere in the rookie forum you can find a whole post on rules. And grenades will fuck you up, so follow the rules. blah blah blah.

Some things are unfortunate, but can't be helped. Some mistakes are excusable when they come from someone new and inexperienced. But other things just rise to a level which makes them unforgivable.

Being from California. Well, you can't help that, but I wouldn't go around telling people.

Asking for locations. You didn't know any better. Just this once, it can be excused.

But when you go so far as to mention certain taboo topics (The Texas Door) and are known to associate with certain other people (Astro), your reputation is bound to suffer.

You missed the Imperial Sugar factory golden days. They just imploded a good section of it and not worth exploring now. I'm down the street from you off of 90 and Fondren but a rookie here as well.

The Texas Door is the hatch in Astro's home which leads to the secret system of underground tunnels in her basement.

Trust me on this one.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

You hit me up too, then. I would love to add some explorers to the Houston area.

You realize you risk sanctions for disclosing sensitive information in a public forum?

We have now been compromised! This could spell the very end of civilization as we know it. It has been said that once opened, The Texas Door can never be closed.

The south is so much nicer to n00bs who ask for locations than the northeast is. This made me happy.

there is no Texas door.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Truth...

And this new member is causing all kinds of problems! Next thing you know, we'll be fighting in the streets.

SDchronix: So what are you into exploring? Buildings only? Underground? Cranes? Nude? High rises? Natural features? I'm just curious.

Californians set buildings on fire, northerners set rookies on fire, and in the south nothing ever gets set on fire because NOBODY EVER SHOWS UP FOR ANYTHING WE PLAN. EVER.

The Texas Door is one of the best, most difficult locations to find and get into, but most people that have are awarded grants and are living comfortable off of them, getting paid to explore. Florida tried to copy it but it's just nowhere near as good.

Also I'm Buttram Manfist. Welcome.

Oh and I'm surprised nobody has remembered to mention but we have a tradition for rookies in the south, until you get your one month star you may ONLY post in haikus if you want any respect. I know it's a pain but we all did, you'll make it too.

I never got the chance to find anything to explore when I went to Houston because Houston PD was too busy trying to find drugs on me, and too many homeless people, not even in downtown. I was near the Fiesta on San Jacinto.
