I don't tend to post more than 2 shots of one place unless it is a really awesome place with worthwhile shots so here are a few randoms from various places.

Let the HDR bashing begin.

Haters gonna hate...there can be a point where the quest for detail causes one to lose the big picture (pun intended)...but you have an understated way of applying the technique. I've been to these places with and without you, and I always look forward to your interpretations!

haha thanks Doom! My goal in life is not to convert others to the HDR way of life but is to teach them that you can do it without over saturation and halos/glowing edges. It sucks that people don't critique their own photos before posting them. It gave HDR the bad name that it now has. It's kind of funny though as the term High Dynamic Range had nothing to do with tonemapping. People should hate the player (poor tonemapping), not the game (HDR). My $0.02.

I think the HDR level is beautiful, and your compositions are powerful. Just seems like you've got some lens correction issues, take the last one as example. Or is it some kind of incredibly subtle fisheye?

Thanks! It 14mm on full frame. The perspective has to be perfect or else you get weird lines and a rounded look. You're right, the last pic could have easily been fixed in photoshop. Sometimes it can't be fixed very easily though. Again, the lens has to be placed perfectly level or else it looks fishy. Still learning that as it's a new lens.

I really like #2 a lot. And congrats on the new lens, that's what I've been shooting a lot with lately and it kicks ass. Make sure you try getting in super close (less than 12") to objects with the lens wide open; you can get images that you wouldn't even think are possible.

Normally I hate HDR now a days, But your photos are all worth looking at. It's applied just enough to reveal the detail.
