This weekend...made me feel old
< on 12/13/2011 3:27 PM >

So is exploring a younger hobby? After this weekend I'm begging to think so. Now I'm a young 34'ish. But with medical problems I probably have the body of a 60+ year old. I've hardly ever let them get in the way. This weekend just killed me though. I went to a meet up. Now I don't know if was not sleeping for 46 hours or what. But I really feel like I can't keep up with the rest. If any meet up peeps see this... i want to know your age first.

I have the body of a 20-year-old! (I keep it in the garage to keep it from getting stinky) But seriously, maybe we should organize an older-explorers meetup. It took me three days to recover from my last fence-climbing.

I'm also 34 and I had the exact opposite happen to me this week. I popped a rib about a month ago and have been in a lot of pain. Decided to check out a spot the other night and while hoisting myself over a large make shift wooden wall, my rib popped back to where it belonged! Still tender but much better than before. I would bet the lack of sleep paid a big roll in your trip. When you go that long without sleep your body just can't hang. Us old folks gotta get our shuteye.

I'm 36, and if I'm having a good whole day explore with a ton of walking, I'm try to veg at home the next day. I have awesome sleeps after exploring though! Love it.

Exploring with people who know any limitations you may have, or keep the same sort of pace, is a good.

LOL @ Splumer

I can do everything at 34 that I could do at 20.... except that now I can last longer in bed
