Hi all I'm new to this site but not to urban exploring I only just found out there was a name for it and discovered this page to find out there are many of you that enjoy my little hobby as well. I'm loving the pics posted here! I've always been fascinated by abandoned buildings and urban decay and have been exploring since I can remember so in short I'm pleased to meet you all and want to thank every one who posts here for sharing their experiences and photos's.

Hello to everyone! I am a new urbex-er, although I have explored a couple sites with my husband just out of inquisitiveness (and a desire to photograph neat stuff). Currently living near Birmingham, Alabama. I have always admired photographs of old, decaying sites and reading about explorers' experiences. Now I am realizing - I, too, can explore. Just trying to soak in all of the knowledge on the forums.

I'd like to connect with other UE enthusiasts in the area, so if you're in Central Alabama and would like someone to tag along on an explore, send me a PM.

Okay, so now I'm off to gear up - have to buy cigarettes, wasp spray, and a tactical clipboard...
;)

Hello everyone! This is Kara and William, a couple living in Southwestern Michigan, just moved here from the southeastern side of the state. We've been exploring together for a little over a year now, but now that we've relocated we're having a bit harder time finding new locations. If anybody is in our area, we would love to have more people to explore with.

- Kara

Hello all! Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 17, from Hamilton ON, and just recently herd about this site. I am amazed and excited that so many people share my passion for exploring.

While I'm not 'splorin, I enjoy designing web sites, drinking coffee and eating carrots.

If anyone near my area is interested in exploring together, feel free to pm me.

Hey Everybody!
My name is Rich and I live in the bay area. I love exploring things but I'm a bit limited because I'm still just a senior in high school. By year's end I get a lot more freedom because I'll be off to college so I was hoping to stay true to my enthusiastic explorer side and get into UE. I love trying new things and I'm really excited to become a part of this. I've done a couple explorations before with a veteran and my friends and I can honestly say that I'm hooked on this. I can't wait to meet new people from this

GREETINGS Everyone! The name is Spoken or Sister Jane. I've always loved exploring and spelunkering. I've heard about Urban Exploring before but didn't start researching it until I watched the documentary "Urban Explorers". I live in the Metro-Atlanta area and hoping to meet some people to show me the quintessentials of Urban Exploring and some hidden treasures of the area.

Hello Everyone!
I'm From Northern California and I'm new to calling this Urban Exploring but have always been into "City Spelunking" so this seems like a good place to visit. I look forward to seeing the cool places that you all go to and trying to find more cool places!

Hey all, my name is Jason and I'm from Cincinnati.

I'm originally from southeast Michigan and I became interested in UE about 4 years ago from browsing sites about Detroit abandonment (although I didn't realize at the time that there's an actual UE community). So that's how I got started into photography, but my photography hobby just became its own thing and I never really got into UE as I had originally expected to. I have no one to UE with so I'm hoping to meet some local folks and attend some UE meetups.

Jason

Hello, I made this account 3 days ago(which you have to wait 3 days befor posting, which im sure you all know this. but that was the longest 3 days.) after my brother was showing me this site. he has been looking on this site and a few others for awhile now and we figured we could start exploring and get cool stories of are own and stop just reading other. so that day we went exploring are first time it was rather amazing and much better then i would have ever thought. Growing up in indiana my hole life i always thought indiana was really lame and didnt have much to offer like many other states. Now i see theres much more to indiana thanks to Uer.

Hola, Explorers!

I'm SlenderMatt, but you can just call me Matt, if you wish. Or SlenderMatt. Because I think that's an awesome username.

I started this kind of this while my family and I were out GeoCaching. What we discovered that, yes, half of the fun was hunting for the GeoCaches, but really, half of it was exploring out-of-the-way places and going on adventures like that! So, I looked for an online community with places tracked and logged so I could find new places to check out, and share some of my own. Apparently, I can't quite log any places yet, because I'm too new, but that's okay. I can hang out here in the meantime.

In my spare time (and hopefully, one day professionally), I'm a filmmaker. I have often thought about making a documentary on Urban Exploring/ GeoCaching type thing, and I hope one day I can. I love movies, and I also love writing.

Anyway, I look forward to exploring with and meeting all of you!

Hello!

My name is Jane, I live in the Vancouver area and am really hoping to find people near me who have experience with exploring abandoned places. I've always wanted to do this but never quite knew how to start/who to go with. Anyway, hoping to get some help here. A little about me: I love learning about the paranormal, appreciate old and odd things and am a very curious person. Much love for Psychobilly and Celtic Punk music as well

Hello I am James B, I live in Arizona! I love hiking exploring new things, and meeting new people. I decided to join this site so I can learn about and be a part of Urban Exploration, but it seems that there isn't any locations I can check out in the area. :/ Does anyone know of any in the city of Queen Creek or San Tan Valley? Please and thank you.

Atlanta Slumming
<Reply # 35 on 12/13/2011 6:13 PM >

Hey all! I'm from the heart of Atlanta, and I KNOW the city's replete with tons of viable sites, but I don't really have the available transportation or any willing partners. I'm 16 - I've been doing some very casual urban exploring for about two years (got hauled in but not indicted for breaking into an abandoned Great Gatsby's right before my 15th birthday), but there's so much more that I wanna do here.

At any rate, I've been snooping around this site for a little less than a year and only just now got an account. If anyone's got any tips for urban exploring in Atlanta, I'd love some advice or know-how.

Greetings from Calgary! My name is Brad and I have had an interest in Urban Exploration for most of my life. The urbex bug hit me at a very early age when my father used to take my brother and I out to rural areas of Alberta to photograph abandoned houses and barns for artistic research.

I have built an exclusive web page called, The Urban Exploration and Abandoned Building Link Repository. I am constantly updating this page and encourage other members to contribute their own website links to help this list grow. Message me if you wish to see your site on this list.

I wish the best to everyone.

Cheers!

^^ Some of those location sites seem to have data from the UER DB pasted into them. Or is it the other way around? *shrugs*.

Yay, lets make all the sites (even the REALLY GOOD ONES) just THAT much easier for EVERYONE to find!

GREAT IDEA RIGHT???

Right?

*facepalm*
