It was chaos. I got there at 50 mins early and Kmart's parking lot was already full. easily 1,000 people there. Didn't bother looking for the free coffee and donuts they promised. Then mission blv was screwed til at least 10

Best view may have been up in the hills to the side though...I'm sure it will be on the news all night

They demolished the old power plant out in Bakersfield a couple weeks ago.

Apparently something went wrong with the explosive charges. There was a big crowd in the Lowe's parking lot, across the street, over 1000ft away. Some huge piece of metal came flying all the way over and took a guy's leg clean off.

Well, I'm not sure if it was "clean" but it was a full separation.

I've a feeling someone's gonna get sued over that one.

The site, which many in the community considered an eyesore, was being cleared for possible sale and development, Boyles said.

Funny, considering it's a superfund site that has massive quantities of PCB's and other shit laying in the soil all around and underneath it.

Hey, lets sell this place! It's too toxic to continue running a power station on!

@cdracingzx6r: Beautiful picture on that last one
