Did you really? If so, I'm proud of you

Of course! Do you remember me pm-ing you asking about the finer details of making one? hahahaha. It was the only way in, you had to scale a wall. (well at first there was a kind of awning-of-death that you could climb up which worked fine but it was the first thing to go. They took down the awning then left the rest of the building untouched for over a week before knocking anything else down )

Some of you tripped an alarm and alerted the police copter ;)
Here's a heads up on the copter- it has some crazy thermal reading device that can follow the heat of your footprints hours and hours after you've been somewhere, right to your front door. That's how it caught it's first victim after purchase. I'm sure it's not as big a deal in the spring/summer as it was in the winter, but if I noticed it up in the air I'd go to a really heavily populated place - a Tim Horton's or something where dozens of people are going to walk through, then go home so they can't nail you.
Of course this only matters for the part where you're walking, not time spent on a bicycle or in a car, but I thought it was still good for everybody to know

Wow, that's pretty scary. I'm impressed! I wonder what else it can do?

It sounds like "laying low" isn't a great bet with it if it can do thermal imaging - if you DO piss it off, I guess you should just get to a busy area ASAP.

Yeah it really fucks up 'hide and out-wait the cops' :/
I'm not sure if it can help them when you're in a building though. I'll have to look up the news reports that were done on it and see what they said it's capabilities are.

This might be something to ask about in UE Main or whatever, see if anybody has experience (good or bad) on dealing with 'copters.

Yeah, Weston's. My only gripe is that we never managed to get into the courthouse that they used for that gang trial that the bakery is now moved into. Would have been a two birds with one stone kind of scenario.

The court house is still very dormant. Weston has all sorts of crap stored in it, their new building is next door.

Hold on, I'm a little confused. The NEW weston has all the stuff from the old weston stored in it I'm guessing? and it's next door to...the courthouse?

The blue+grey building is the new bakery. The off-white building to the west is the "court house". Weston owns the entire property.

Weston is responsible for around 70% of the bread sold in winnipeg, supplying most of the fast food chains and over 100 different brands of bread that you may think come form different companies. Yup wonder bread and natural bakery rye bread come out of the same oven.

As such, down time was not an option when they built their new building, so all new equipment was installed. However, management being the packrats they are salvaged a ton of equipment out of the old building. All this crap and much more is rotting in the courthouse.

The consensus in the thread I started on UE Main is that whoever it was that set off that alarm probably weren't the target of the helicopter.

Here's a better idea... explore abandoned buildings! I never liked active buildings. For the most part if you're in an actual abandoned building anybody would probably just look at your camera, look at you, laugh and tell you to go take a hike. Not so sure it would be the same if you were in an active and alarmed building though...

It looked abandoned. Honest mistake.

But you're right - as soon as we realized it was being used for storage, we should have taken off. We decided to stop for a couple pictures, but that was a mistake.

Next time, I'll know better!

No worries man, just more of a "cover your own ass" type thing

Btw, the alarmed location is *not* the one in the picture that ajs posted, it was somewhere else. We didn't get into the place ajs posted.
