Posted by Vexx I havent had any run ins with the cops but not to long ago i was checking out 2 old farm houses on the same property that was right off the highway. there wasnt any No trespassing signs or anything like that so i pulled in got out and started taking some photos. Next thing i know im in the barn and i hear a car honking over in the driveway so i came out as he was pulling off. I waved for him to come back because i didnt want him to just drive off and call the cops. He flipped around and came back. He drove up to me and rolled down his window....first thing i saw was a 30/06 sitting in his front seat. I told him i was just taking pictures of the houses for a photography class and that i wasnt there to mess with anything. I asked him if he wanted me to leave and he said no that if i was just taking pictures then i didnt have to leave and then he just took off. It definitely got my heart pounding but staying calm and just acting like there isnt anything wrong is definitely the best way to go. People no matter who they are pick up on things like that and it can the difference in getting kicked out/ cited or being allowed to stay / getting let go. |
Posted by barefootpoetry Good call hoss. My heart would've been stuck between my teeth. Don't know if I would've had the courage to flag him down! But I'm kinda chicken like that. |
Posted by Captain_Slow I've been stopped and / or caught by cops countless times, a couple officers here in Denton know me by name just from pulling me out of abandoned buildings. BUT, I've NEVER gotten a citation, and I've never had an unpleasant experience with Denton PD, they're friendly, down to earth guys. Don't be a dick and they won't be a dick. But that's just Denton. Every town is different. |
Posted by Yield I've only been caught once and I could have ran and hidden to avoid it but it was merely a property owner, not a cop, and I was in the middle of nowhere (aka the prairies) She ended up coming exploring with us. (she had never gone in half the rundown buildings) |
Posted by HarvestmanMan Haha, nice. I haven't been caught yet, but I was exploring an about-to-be demolished stripmall late one evening, and the next day, they put up big "KEEP OUT" signs near the property. I guess some camera or someone saw me! |
Posted by Lenny C I was at a place recently and got busted. I was really nervous and the cop got it from me that I was on uer.ca. I don't think he even cared. He let me go |

Posted by Trap ...Dumbass... WHY would you ever admit this? Ever? I can't think of a situation where this would be necessary. |

Best advice I can give rooks is that its not a lie if you believe it. And cops can tell if you bullshittin. |
