very few if anyone will know who "puppet" is.
< on 2/4/2011 2:24 PM >

he started dragracing harleys in the late 60's. he started building frames for "top fuel" bikes in the 80's (when it really "exploaded"- no pun intended).
his company "weakend frame" is located in longview tx. they make them "by order" they are the best. his designe and craftsmanship is second to none. he was a god in the ahdra community. i met with him in 2006 as i was in longview to pick paint at dusold designs. he took the time out of his busy day to talk with me about my class of racing and catch up on some "gossip" of old school racers i know. he was never to busy to help or offer advise to anyone who needed it.
he passed on. i just read this. he will be missed. the drag racing community has had a great loss.

R.I.P. pup.

i wish i saw this sooner. thats the funny thing about oldschool racers, they never tell you who passed, they let you find out on youre own.

damn them.

the story of puppet and me:

i dont know, maybe its cuz im one of them. years ago i met a man, who had only 1 foot. he talked with the guy who i worked for- if you could call it work. it was clear that they knew eachother. years later, i saw the same man. i was having trouble, i was killing my lights, could not get it right... the box next to me was more his speed, its hrp, in houston. it was hot. 107 air or hotter, 130 on the strip. he came over to my pit box and said, "stage early, let the lights come to you. dont red line. we all know the strip is shit- work it to your adavntage, it will work out." i ran a personal best in 3rd round elim's at 7.109 et 104.4mph, in the 1/8th, that was a state record. i had it for 21 minutes. thats my memory of puppet.

Wow, that sucks man. He sounds like quite a character.

It's tough browsing through the motorcycle forums and seeing the RIP posts. It's a shame.
