Please excuse me for resurrecting this thread with nothing to add, but I'm visiting SF early next week for a couple of days and was hoping to check out any drains or other underground stuff in the area.

I'm from Canada, so I only just figured out that Oakland isn't a neighbourhood in SF. I'll be stumbling around what wet areas I can find, but I'm there for a work thing and only really have evenings and the weekend, so it would be great if someone feels like showing me around a bit.

Please PM for exact dates, but it'll be most of next week, including the weekend.

What he means is that the tone of your post is negative; essentially what it sounds like you're saying is "those spots aren't rare and exclusive, why even bother posting them?"

Like everyone, you came here to find new places to explore. Unfortunately this laudable goal is not quite how this website works. Instead, it's really knowing the people around that know this info. Lots of stuff are not posted, so getting people to divulge that info is what is needed. Pgathriller and dodger are big drain enthusiasts here (not I though). Revealing names of spots, even if admittedly vague or somewhat public isn't always the best way to make friends here.

Posting your discoveries-even if easy, vague or otherwise "weak"-also helps.
