Torch warning
< on 10/4/2010 8:38 AM >

A torch (the flaming kind, not the British word) should not be used in a place with a low ceiling.

The spiders all wanting to escape asphyxiation started descending all at once. I was trapped in a maze of webs with more closing in on me from above.

At that point, I ducked down and ran for the exit. Lost a bit of arm hair in the process. D'oh.

Here I thought I was the only one to explore with a torch. They just everyhting such a cool/creepy look, makes you really feel like you are exploring. I wish I knew how to make a nice quality one, mine usually end up being made out of the random stuff I find in abandonments. The usual seems to be a rag of some sort (newspapers, paper from drywall, or clothing) tied to a stick (plaster wall backing, broken mop handle) and whatever solvent I can find in the boiler room. I guess it is nice that they are crappy for extra character, but the smell can be pretty bad at times.

I hate to think what chemicals you're breathing x.x

I've seen all kinds of nasties in boiler rooms.
