Twist my rubber arm??

I'm in. I'll send you that long awaited message of the few places I scouted out and see what you think (either later tonight or tomorrow morning). We should definitely hit up that empty church. With the full moon...so creepy!! ;)

Oof! Fastest I've seen and well deserved! Congratulations!

Except for the fact that you're now a full-fledged Albertan UER member and we still haven't met.........

Thanks

I will let you know if I'm heading down your way in the next month or so. I have a couple climbing weekends planned just after Christmas but may stay more in the Nordegg area. Although there could a night in Calgary on the radar.

If not, maybe we'll have to do a spring meet or something

So...this is a little out of the norm but thought I'd share anyway. Yesterday was warmer so I went out to scout out a possible location I'd read about. It was a couple of abandoned houses lake front on a little village west of Edmonton. I'd gone there as a kid and know the area.

I got out there shortly before sunset (because I figured the worst case scenario would be I watched the sunset over the lake) and there were all these people at the lake front. Turns out there was a "seismic event" through the night and some crazy ice formations and huge cracks in the lake.

Being small town Alberta, I, of course, had a beer with some ice fisherman and heard how the houses shook, the noise of the lake cracking was terrifying and they all talked about how weird the lake was the day before it happened...making popping noises etc. It was still making noises.

So not quite the usual exploration but still interesting and amazing pics of the power of Mother Nature!

Check out CBC's article on it here - but I read it on UER first.

So interesting!! It was so random I ended up out there but was quite the sight to see. Turns out the houses I was looking for are gone anyway so at least I got something out of it. ;)

It was still being used for a few small events but I think its mothballed for now until City Hall makes up their mind.

I'm back to full time at work so I've been busy but I'm keeping an eye out.

Apparently the weather heard me talking. My bad.

As far as I know there's an "ongoing discussion" as to who is responsible for demolition costs.

lol stupid weather. I think it's supposed to be warmer next week (here's hoping).

The Coliseum would be an epic explore but probably damn near impossible
